I started investigating the Lap-Band in 2004 or 2005. I was not interested in a bypass because I had a few friends who had it done and were mentally unstable before which made them REALLY mentally unstable after. Knowing that I needed to have the right after care in conjuction with the right tool was a big deal to me. I attended my first seminar in 2005 and felt that it wasn't the right time for me. Also at that time getting insurance approval was really difficult. Jump ahead to 2010, in January I attended my seminar, in March I had my first pre-op, psychiatry and other misc test. I dieted with my doctor for 6 months. In september 2010 I finished with my doctor and BlueGrass bariatrics sent through my Insurance for approval. As of 10/09/10 I was approved through Humana. I am so very excited. I am emotionally and physically healthy and am in a good place to have this procedure. I can't wait to get my surgery date!
