Dont worry about what your family thinks. 80 pounds is a huge success and its' too bad that cannot aknowledge that. They sound jealous. Just keep plugging away and all that matters is that you are happy and will be healthier,,

I totally know how you feel I recently was banded on Nov 15th. Before the operation I was denied 2 times from insurance for stupid reasons. I have always been 250+ in weight. I have waited about 7y years for this surgery. Please be patient and do not give up. That is what a docter told me the first time I was denied about 7 years ago, and I did not. If you wait patiently I am sure you will be able to get the surgery...DONT GET FRUSTRATED AND GIVE UP>>> YOU WILL GET THE LAPBAND EVENTUALLY xoxo AlisaB)

I was banded on the 15th. I am doing pretty good. I still have pretty bad gas pains in my shoulder, but I will deal with it if I can be healthy and an average size!!!! Beginning weight 266 weight now 254

Hello I was banded a day before you??? YAY!!!I was wondering how you are feeling?? I am constipated and have major gas pain in my shoulder area???? Other than that I am doing ok. How are you feeling ???Alisa

I feel like I am full of gas. It is mostly in my throat and chest and arm is this normal??? Other than the gas I am feeling good??? Any suggestions??? :smile:

Hello. I am 2 days post op. I am a little sore, but it is not bad. You will be able to tolerate it. You will be gassy and I have found that to be more irritating than the incisions. In this process the best thing is to take the preop diet one meal at a time. Don't overthink it or you will feel like you have no motivation to do this. That is how I felt, but when the time came I followed the pre-op diet and felt is was not as bad as I had envisioned it to be. Good luck to you, you will do great!!!!
