I have attended the initial seminar and scheduled my first appt. with the Nurse Practioner to begin the required six months of "medically monitored" weight loss. I have, like nearly everyone who has been banded, tried everything to loose the extra 70 pounds I lug around everyday; Atkins, South Beach, grapefruit, diet pills, green tea, etc, etc. to no avail. I loose and gain the same 40 pounds over and over often with a few extra every time. I even went to a nutrionist for 9 months (2009-2010) and have been going to the gym about 3 times a week since July 2009. I had a set back with the gym due to a hernia which I had repaired and gained back 10 of the 22 pounds I had lost. UGH! I just can't seem to loose consistently or maintain any weight loss. After quitting smoking 9 years ago, I exchanged my nicotine addiction for a food addiction. I know that even when I make the "right" food choices, I still eat too much so I think the lap band will be my saving grace and finally put this yo yo to a stop! I know there is a thin person inside fighting to get out because I was downright "little" at 110 pounds all through high school and even after 2 kids, weighed 120. Hopefully by this time next year, I will be heading back towards that number!!
