I doubt you had a slip. Almost all of us have done that, many times. If you PB'd (productive burped) meaning threw up / burpped up from your pouch, I'm sure your fine. If you vomited from your stomach below your band, that is the thing you don't want to do. I have never had a slip but some of the signs are not being able to keep food or liquids down, acid relux. After you have PB'd you can be a little swollen or it might feel hard to get food down for a few hours. that can be normal. My guess is your just fine.

I started out at 432 pounds. I lost pretty steady till I got to 301.4. I was at that weight for weeks. It drove me nuts cuz I really wanted to see that 200. Went to see my Dr. We decided I didn't need a fill, my eating was good. Went to see the nutritionist and she thought my eating and exercise was great. She suggested strength training. I started going to a Body Pump class at the gym and with in a week I broke that DAMN 300 mark. Try changing up your exercise with strength training and I would highly recommend "Body Pump" if you can find a class. It is very doable for anyone.

Almost 2 Years After My Surgery, I Have A Very Sad History To Tell
TKW replied to mell's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
How tight is your band. If you are really tight I would STRONGLY suggest getting an unfill. Many people don't lose weight with a really tight band. I don't know why.... I am guessing because they are consuming too many liquid calories. But... you need to be able to eat solids and keep them down to be healthy. I would start with having your Dr. take some fluid out of your band so you can eat solid foods. Aand maybe do some research on how the band works as far as being able to eat solids. I don't know your situation... but these are my thoughts. You must be misserable, I hope you can turn it around. Best of Luck! -
Is It Easy To Discern When The Food Passes Through Your Pouch ??
TKW replied to marketingdude's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, I don't feel it go through my band unless I have taken to big of a bite and it sits there trying to decide it it should go through or not. Then I can feel the release of the pressure, but generally, no I can not feel the food pass thru the band. -
Exercise made a world of difference with my weight loss. Keep it up, you will see progress. Exercise is a very important factor in this whole band/weightloss journey!

Aaargh! Moved, Got Broke, No Protein Shakes, And Gained 5 Labs Back! Wwjd?!
TKW replied to Myndkandi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drank a total of 2 my entire journey and I'm 2.5 years post op. I ate a lot of cottage cheese and greek yogurt in the early stages. -
I don't know what that is?
-
Everynow and then I'll shoot up 3 or 4 pounds. I know that I haven't over eaten enough to do that anyway. I ate Chinese food the other night... and not much. maybe 3/4 cup. sure enough the next morning I was up 3 pounds. It was gone in a day or two. I count calories - cuz seriously, you eat more than you think if you are not logging everything. It really helps to see what you are poking in you mouth. Makes you think twice, that's for sure.

Your scared your different from the rest of us.... and really, we all have the same concerns and struggles. I didn't now how I would ever EVER give up sweets. I thought for sure I would fail because of it. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, there have been challenges along the way, and I've eating my share of "treats" but with every pound I lose it motivates me to carry on. I don't believe in complete deprivation. I still have bread, Pasta, rice and a treat every now and then. But honestly... I don't crave any of those things like I used to. Learn about the band and how it works.... use it as it was meant to be used and you will do great. Best of Luck to you!

Well, I think typically with a slip (altho I've never had one) you have trouble eating and drinking and keeping anything down. Also a lot of acid reflux. Altho.... like anything else, I'm sure it can be different for everyone.

What Is Your Game Plan For The Holidays?
TKW replied to ♕ajtexas♕'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm having dessert! I try really hard to watch what I eat during the Holiday season, I log my food, go to the gym and try to stay within my calorie limit. But Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Eve Supper and Christmas Day... I eat what I want to eat. I don't stuff myself to the point of being misserable.... I'd just throw up, but I enjoy the day! -
Vetrrans, Guru's, Experienced Lap Banders!! Help!
TKW replied to skintyprincess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds to me like you are too tight. To tight and not being able to eat solids leads to lots of liquids. And when you consume a lot of liquids you dont feel like you are eating much so you have a little more. Liquids add up fast calorie wise. If you are able to eat solid protiens it curbs your hunger and keeps you satisfied for longer not to mention.... it's just plain healthier. To tight can lead to band slippage. Constult your Dr. -
Drs. Feedback.... So Incredibly Happy =)
TKW replied to Nayelli Q.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amazing Nayelli.... just freekin AMAZING! Congrats Girl... all your hard work is paying off! -
it's really more of a solid than a liquid.... (just sayin).

Carrots wouldn't be too bad. And now they "mash" cauliflower all the time as a side dish. I love cauliflower but mashed doesn't really apeal to me. OH how I hated that pureed stage. Lets just say I ate a LOT of yogurt and cottage cheese. Good Luck.!

Sliming gernerally occurs when you get food stuck. Your body starts to produce saliva.... oh lets be honest, it's not saliva, it's slime. Thick, rope like slime. Anyway your body starts to produce this slime to help coax the food thru your band. It will either help the food go thru or you will fill up with slime, and you will have to get rid of it. Usually by throwing up but I have slimed so bad in the past that all i have to do is lean over the toilet and it kind of just starts to come out. It is some crazy $*it!

Hi Erica - I wish I had had this option at 21. I am post op 2.5 years and I have not got one sincle complaint. Am happy with my weight loss and the band. Best of Luck to you!

Ya, sounds normal. My port area was super tender and took a long......long time to heal. Congrats on being banded!

Love my 5:30 AM "Body Pump" Class. Nothing like sweat dripping off your nose while your doing pushups!!! It's gonna be a great day!

This is kind of a touchy subject because there are those of us who don't believe in being too tight and those who love being really tight. I think liquids are fine for a few days, see if you loosen up a little. When you eat are you eating really small bites (dime size) and taking your time between bites? But, if it doesn't change I say go in for a slight unfill. You need to be able to eat because PBing and throwing up can lead to complications and band slippage. You can also consume a lot more calories in liquid. Also, it's just not healthy (in my opinion). I can eat most anything, I have no problems with any protien, bread, Pasta,... I don't eat a lot of things that are unhealthy except on rare occassions because I know that a diet with lots of these things is not going to be productive but when I want a slice of pizza... I can have one. I think if I could not eat solid food I would induldge in things like yogurt and icecream and anything that went down easy and really never be satisfied. The band should supply restriction but it is also there to help create satiety. Listen to your body, glad you called your doc. Best of Luck
