Please tell me it gets better...
TKW replied to ADifferentAlli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it will get better, just take it easy. I have always had a very hard time eating in the morning because my band is so much tighter in the morning then it is later in the day. My dr. said that is totally normal. Good luck to you! -
I love Weight Watchers raspberry dark chocolate ice cream bars, 70 calories. Also, Cocoa dry roasted almonds, they come in a 100 calorie pack.... yum-O. I also like 100 calorie pack chex mix if i want something crunchy.

symptoms if you eat too much?
TKW replied to mominoc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I eat too much my upper back hurts. -
No.. not a good thing. If you get something stuck, or I notice too if I overeat, your stomach will start producing saliva to try and get the "stuck" object to pass through the band. But it is not just saliva, it is thick and slimey. I completely fill up with it when I get stuck and if it can't go down it comes up and I keep producing it until the object in unstuck.

Try Carnation instant breakfast mixed with skim milk. It's like drinking chocolate milk. It probably won't help your nausea, but if you are getting nauseous from the protien drinks that might help. Also, you really should call your DR!!!

Good Luck to you ALL!!!!

Something inside me
TKW replied to KatieRichardson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I used to be a "stomach sleeper" I can't anymore cuz when I roll over on to my stomach it pokes me in my sternum. LOL... I think! Anyway it's uncomfortable like something is poking me! This is the only time I notice it. -
I Went To This Other Forum and Kinda Wished I Hadn't...
TKW replied to TheRealSouthernBelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I weighed 432. It's been 9 months, I've lost 99 pounds I average 10 pounds a month consistantly, my surgeon was very optimistic about me loosing 200 pounds... I'm not quitting till I see Onederland. He said a lot of people loose 50 pounds and then they think "Gee, I've done a great job" and they get a little lax on following the "plan". I feel confident that if I can keep up my dedication I will see Onederland!!! -
Have we forgotten to RESPECT one another?

Having some serious second thoughts
TKW replied to Rainydayz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no will power, the band has given me that will power, physically and mentally. It curbs my appetite greatly yet I do have to make the right choices. I also think exercise plays a huge roll in my weight loss. I am a pretty consistant 10 pounds a month, without the exercise I would bet that would be half. -
Regret - not doing it sooner. Do I cheat... nope, I'm not on a diet. Sometimes I make bad choices but I can eat anything I "choose" to eat, and sometimes I do!
-
It wasn't so much your situation I was laughing at but the - So Matter of Fact way you stated it! I sure hope you resolve the issue soon!
-
I agree... call them!
-
sorry...lol, i didn't have that experience!!! i had diarhea... but always made it to the bathroom. lol... thanks for the giggle!
-
ya... you sound to tight. Sometimes it doesn't take much to overfill, even on a first fill. I think I'd call them.

The hammer should work fine for you if you use it right, but if you just buy it and throw in on your work bench it probably isn't going to drive a whole lot of nails. You didn't buy the hammer thinking it would pound those nails without any effort from you did you?

Dietician called it lapband hell...
TKW replied to justplaintired's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You know... I must be one in very few that had restriction right from the start. So did my brother, he is a year out and has never had a fill, he is down over 100 pounds. I have always had some sort of restriction, I have had 3 fills but I have never noticed that I get full faster, just that I stay full longer. Funny how different the band works for different people! Very Best of Luck to you on your Journey!!! -
LOL... that's not all bad!

Cathy... I weighed over 400 pounds!!! I was pre-hyper tension, pre- diabetic, had high colesterol and was just totally out of control with my weight. I was very scared to do this but I knew I had to try something. It has worked so well for me, I can't express how happy I am with my decision. My blood pressure, blood sugars and colestorol are all normal, I feel 10 years younger and I honestly have not had a problem with the process or with changing my habits. I eat the wrong thing every now and then but I stick pretty close to the guidelines. I exercise at least 5 times a week, which I think is a huge contributing factor to my success so far. I was just telling some body last night that the first time I got on the eliptical machine at the gym I went 6 minutes and seriously thought I was going to die!!! So I just kept walking on the tread mill for the next couple of months. Now I trade off between the treadmill and the eliptical machine (which may I say I can do 30 minutes no problem now!!!) I can't belive the things in life that are already easier like tying my shoes, cutting my toe nails, I sleep like a baby!!!!! ( did not have sleep apnea) I just feel so great, and I never thought I felt that bad, now I just can't believe how good I feel and I have a very long way to go yet! My Dr. asked me the other day "Are you happier" I just looked at her for a minute and then I said "WOW" " I' am happier and I'm a very happy person normally" It's just crazy already the changes in my life for the better. I am 3 pounds away from 100 pounds lost and I have lost pretty steady for 9 months, had a 3 week plateau but that wasn't too bad. Can't wait to loose the next 100. Get educated, exercise and drink your water, that would be my best advice and the things I find the most important in my weightloss success so far. Good Luck to you on your Lap-Band Journey!

I've never had one, but I would guess the cost would be the same.

That's cuz people post bad things more often then good things. I have not had a single problem except an occasional "stuck" episode that are totally my own fault. I was terrified before surgery, I had not been on this site yet, I have not got one complaint, problem, or complication. NOT ONE! Good luck to you!
