I don't have a problem with salads either... i eat them a lot.
-
Oh no.... so sorry, but glad you are ok.
-
I've had a couple of items off that menu. Both were delish!
-
Sometimes doesn't it sound like there is something ALIVE in there trying to get out? LOL
-
Well, you don't want to throw up, so the pepto is fine. Why are you waiting on the protien shakes, I think you can start them right away (unless your dr. advised you differently)
-
Well... I have a pair of Rebock's and to be honest. I didn't even know it, thought they were just regular tennis shoes at first. So if they do something... it is unnoticable to me.

You ladies Rock... Good luck to all of you!!!

FEELING LIKE CRAP IN THE MORNINGS????
TKW replied to SammySam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't even try to eat in the morning... can't do it. I will sometimes have a yogurt at work around 10am, other wise I don't eat till noon. I don't have problem getting in my protien so my nut. is fine with skipping breakfast. -
Nope... I tell them. Don't care who knows. I've been overweight since I was a child, I'm proud of my decision to finally do something about it.
-
Hi Pam, here's wishing you a Wonderful Journey! Good Luck to you!

DOES PROTEIN REALLY MATTER.......!!???????
TKW replied to caramellyregina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes... protein fills you up quicker and keeps you fuller longer. Also, it builds muscle and muscle burns more calories that fat. There is a little bit of protein in almost everything we eat. Keep track of what you eat on fitday. It will tell you exactly how much protien is in food. You will get so you learn what to eat and how much. 82 g sounds like a lot. My Dr. wants me to get 60 - 70, but to be honest I usually get more than 80. Good Luck! -
I cried for the first time...

They should be ashamed of themselves. If they want to get together after work and talk shit about the people who they are there to help and care for (and may I add pay their wages) so be it, but that was totally UN-professional and they should be repremanded for it. I think they chose the wrong profession. THAT'S HORRIBLE! Would they stand outside the cancer ward and bad mouth cigarette smokers, who are there dying of lung cancer, out loud for their grieving families to hear. My mouth is still hanging open... can not believe it!!! That being said, i wish you the very best of luck on your journey... don't know where I'd be in a couple of years without my lap-band. -
Yes... you should go back to liquids. You'll know if your band has slipped because you will not be able to keep solids down and you may have reflux. You should be fine tho... I have had this happen many times and I am always worried about slipping too. Just take it easy for a day.
-
Absolutely... you are fine. Just get back on track. GOOD LUCK on your surgery!

I love my band, I have had restriction since the very first day. A lot of people say they can eat as much as they ever could, but I could not begin to eat that much food. I had absolutely no problems with the surgery or afterwards except for some pain in my shoulders from the gas, oh, and some stuck episodes which I have pretty much gotten figured out. The Pro's for me have been I have lost 100 pounds in 9 months (one plateau for about 4 weeks) My blood pressure is now normal My blood sugars are now normal My cloesterol is now normal I sleep better I feel marvelous My knee pain is COMPLETELY gone. My hip only bothers me at night when i sleep if I have been really really active. I can cut my toe nails without holding my breath and coming up for air. The first time I got on the eliptical machine i went 6 minutes and thought I was dying, had to quit. Now... I kick that machines ass!!! Not really but I do 40 minutes, no problem. Honestly didn't think I could ever do that. I am way more active and I can stay up past 10:00pm at night. Honestly, can't think of a con. Maybe, lack of Fiber so hard to go to the bathroom (but I've started taking fiber and now that's fine) Maybe, I can still eat Cookies ( but I like that I can still have some of the "forbidden") Will Power... that's a con. It doesn't give me will power I have to come up with that myself (but really it does give me will power because it has motivated me so much that I find the willpower) Head Hunger... there is a con. It can not conqure my head hunger. Wouldn't that be great! Good Luck.... learn how the band really works, get educated about it, and it will work for you! That is my best advice.

My brothers only Co-Mo was Sleep Apnea, he didn't have a problem but I think he was Medica.

Bluck! Please tell me there's a better way!
TKW replied to mamato2js's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I lived on cottage cheese, carnation instant breakfast and scrambled eggs. No way I could puree food and get it down. That is a tough stage for some people. I was rarely hungry so that helped. Good Luck to you! -
Hi Renee ... welcome aboard! My best advice, get educated about the band and how it works. I'm suprised at the number of people who think it is a magic wand! Best of Luck to you! I love my band!!!
-
yup... I weighed 432 when I was banded 6-29-10. I hit a small plateau in November that lasted about a month but since then I have been a steady 8 - 12 pounds a month and still going strong. Good Luck to you!
-
I am one pound (acutally 3 oz ) from hitting 100 pounds! Going to the gym and then gonna step on the scale! (don't own a scale at home) Hope I'm not dissapointed, but I got a feeling its going to be a Great Day!!!
-
Not sure... but I don't think fluids can stretch your pouch?
-
Nope... I posed this question to my Dr. a couple of weeks ago because I have upped my water intake to 100 oz. She said that I can drink as much as I want, not a problem. Good Luck!
-
Well, if you are getting stuck a lot and throwing up, you should probably go in for an unfill. but it may ease up in a few days. Be really careful and take small bites and chew chew chew. You kind of have to play it by ear but you don't want to be over tight. It just causes you to eat the wrong foods (sliders) and if you get stuck a lot and it leads to throwing up you increase the risk of a slip. Lots of people get stuck a lot and throw up and never have a slip (speaking from experience) but you don't want to increase the chance. Good Luck, and remember the best answer would come from your Dr.

I took 2 weeks off. Felt pretty yucky for 4 days... day 5 felt like my old self, except I got tired easily for about a month. I could have gone back after a week, but I had lots of Vacation time so I took the full 2 weeks off. Good Luck to you!

I couldn't at first but I'm happy to say I can feel it more and more all the time!!!!
