Wooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooo!!! Good for you!
-
Well, you could be to tight. If I eat to fast or take too big of a bite it doesn't matter how good I chew, it gets stuck. Slow down, try very small bites and chew really well. If that doesn't work, I'd say you are to tight. Put your fork down between bites and wait a little while (15-20 sec.) You don't want to be to tight, it can just lead to problems so if it continues call your Dr. My first couple of fills seemed to loosen up after a couple of days. Good Luck!

8 Weeks Post Op and Still No Fill.
TKW replied to GoCubbies79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow!!! You have lost a lot of weight. I would think your doctor would check and make sure there was no fill in your band, and he certainly would not do a fill with the weight loss you have experienced. Are they concerned with your rapid weight loss? 600 calories is not much to live on. I eat 1200 - 1400 a day. Congrats on your success, personally I think you need to eat more. -
Really struggling with this post-op diet!
TKW replied to Wheeler5051's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
liquids go right through the band into your lower stomach so you most likely will not get a "full" feeling from liquids. It is really hard, and emotional, you're doing great. I got to go to mushies after 3 days. Different Dr.'s have different rules. If you are really really hungry, call your dr and tell them. They may tell you to add mushies to your diet. Good luck to you! -
Hi Brittany - Welcome to lap band talk. This site has been a great support for many lap banders. Here's wishing you much success!!!

Good for you. I am in the same boat. I hit 100 pounds and I have just fallen off my routine some. I still watch what I eat but I sneak a little something here and there and tell myself it is ok but I have virtually stopped losing weight. I am also in need of a fill, I see my Dr. today and hope to get one. Thanks for the inspiration! Good Luck to You.

So sorry for your perdiciment. Just remember all you learned about eating healthy with the band and try to continue the habits, eat protien, drink water, exercise. You just have 30# to go, you can do this! I wish you the very very best. Keep us posted on how you are doing!

I haven't had a fill since December, I have had really good restriction but the last few week I could eat a lot. I get full still but it does not stay with me at all! I have an apointment today for a fill. It is a process, that's for sure. Good Luck, just try to eat healthy if you're hungry and stay away from junk. Remember, protien will fill you up and stay with you longer.

I think you're right about this. -
I agree... he's a quack. I would find another Dr/Clinic and have it checked out.

Some of us didn't even have to do the pre-op diet. I was askedd try and lose weight, It took me 3 months to lose 18 pounds but I was not on any specific diet. You've done great losing 8 pounds, your dr. won't be able to tell you cheated. You've lost, that's what they want to see! Try to stick to your Dr.'s order and good luck on Friday!!! -
Is this a pre-op diet? You just have to get back on track after you fall off. You can do it. Don't beat yourself up for eating fish. At least it wasn't pie!!! I was required to lose weight prior to surgery but had no specific diet, and no liquid diet before surgery. I think that would be really hard just keep doing your best. The purpose is to shrink your liver because that is the organ in the way of doing this surgery laproscopically. If you have fallen off and eaten fish I don't think it will do much harm. Good LUCK!

My recovery was great but there is no way I could have done it. You will not feel good enough. I think it is a bad idea. -
What do I do?!?!? Help me please!!!

I have days where I am STARVING. I eat protien, it will fill you up more than anything else will and it stays with you longer. Don't know why you are so hungry after a fill, but the band seem to do strange things sometimes. -
Well, I don't know what you are eating but a lot of people advise, if your calories are below 1000 in a day to increase your calories up to 1200 - 1300. A lot of people have luck doing that. Too few calories your body tries to reserve. I know you don't have much time for exercise but If I don't exercise, I don't lose weight. Good luck!
-
yeah, 24 hours I think is a general rule of thumb.
-
water would definately help you go to the bathroom.
-
the most important thing is that you stay hydrated. If it only consists of water the first couple of days I don't think that is a big deal. But make sure you are at least getting water. Good Luck to you all!

pain going down..early in the am
TKW replied to duckgirl33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A lot of people are super tight in the morning. I am 9 months post op and I can not get anything down until about 10:00am. that and the fact that you are still full of gas and recovering from sugery so you are swollen... I think everything is perfectly fine. Burping will not mess up your band. You're doing great, good luck on your journey! -
Just wanna share and see what you have to say to me.

Honestly... I'd have the band removed and just be who you are, just be happy. It probably is not going to work for you and neither will any other WLS. Just be fat and happy!!!
