The Harvest Moon Challenge
TKW replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tkw - 300.2 The road to Twoderville is starting to tick me off! Have a great week everyone! -
My Dr. says 1 cup - 3 meals a day. Uff da! they are all so different.
-
I agree, i don't think you are eating enough. 1/2 cup of food 3 times a day? I don't see how you are getting the protien you need even with the snacks! You're doing this to be healthier... starvation isn't the answer.
-
Can you eat the day of your fill?
TKW replied to helen098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you shouldn't eat withing a couple of hours before your fill, then mushies the rest of the day, after the fill. Regular food the next day. (that's my dr's orders) -
Do I have to eat 1200 calories for the rest of my life?
TKW replied to extraonme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If 1200 is normal calories why are all nutrition lables "based on a 2000" calorie a day diet? I was thinking 2000 calories was a normal day??? No wonder the world is so fat. -
yep... it is a tough couple of weeks. I wasn't told no hot or cold liquids. Good Luck to you, hope it goes fast!

Do I have to eat 1200 calories for the rest of my life?
TKW replied to extraonme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your band is that tight how did you eat 2500 calories? I don't think you will have to eat 1200 calories for the rest of your life. I think once we reach our goal we will be able to eat more and maintain our weight. I think it will always be a matter of making healthy choices. I mean, If I'm going to have a daily cappachino and a daily icecream, I am probably going to gain weight back. But if we keep filling up on healthy foods my thoughts are we will have to eat more than 1200 cal. to stop losing weight. I think the answer will be, everything in moderation. We can have those splurge days but need to eat sensible most of the time. Just my thoughts, I've wondered this too... Continued good luck to you. Sounds like you are working your butt off at the gym! -
Neither can I! I just can not get a scrambled egg/omelet to go down. I find that weird but I can't.

Yes, I feel full... just like before I was banded. I am one who can't overeat, if i over eat it is just like being stuck and I throw up. I threw up a lot for the first 9 months. Every fill was learning to take smaller bites and eat slow all over again. My bites are about the size of a blue berry. You get used to it. At first I thought food would never taste good again with out that big mouth full, but really. I pretty much feel just like I always did. I get full and satisfied. Haven't been stuck and thrown up in a good 3 months. (Think I was a slow learner) Congrats on the band and good luck on your journey!

I really didn't have cravings for a long time. Now I seem to think about food all the time. Not in a bad way, seems like I'm always planning what I can eat and the protien and calories in it. I've already got tonights supper entered in my daily log... LOL! It seems to help keep me on track! Good luck on your journey!

Would you get the band if you had a chance have a "do over"

Can NOT get the scale to move!!! Been exercising and eating right. I haven't weighed in the 200's since I was in High School (30 years ago). I just want to weigh 299!!!!! Enough already!. Just checking in at 301 (still) -
You should be able to eat solid foods. Glad to hear you are seeing your Dr. Good luck to you!
-
Wow... 5 days on liquids. I only have to do 24 hrs. I'm guessing that is why you are so hungry. The liquid goes right through your band so you never really get "full". It should get better when you are back on solid food. Good Luck!
-
You're young, and not terribly heavy, I would think the excess skin wouldn't be much of an issue. Make sure you exercise, that will help tighten it up! Good Luck on your journey!
-
WOW.... great job!

Pasta is not all bad. Fair amount of protien. One cup... no big deal. I'm a calorie counter, not a carb counter, so I eat pasta once in a great while. As long as I stay within my daily calorie intake, I don't rule out any food. Good Luck to you!

How did I not know about this?!
TKW replied to HmDiiva's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree, change up your routine. Try an new exercise or if you usually do it in the morning do it at night. I have been told our bodies adjust to the same ole same ole, so do something to mix it up. Also, make sure you are eating enough so your body does not go into starvation mode. I think a lot of us eat between 1000 and 1200 calories a day, and make sure you are drinking your Water. Welcome to Lap Band Talk, and continued good luck to you! -
What the heck... well, I would think things could only get better. Good Luck to you!

you've done a great job. Ignore the negatives and just focus on the positives. Remember, we all hit plateaus... some times they last for weeks or even a couple of months. You've lost a lot of weight, maybe you are in a plateau. Maybe you should try changing things up. If you are doing the same exercise every day try something different. Don't let people bring you down, it's not worth it! Keep up the good work and keep doing what you're doing, eventually the weight will move. Sounds to me like you are doing all the right stuff!
