Wow! Great Job!
-
lol! My port bothers me sometimes when I am having sex. Oral... seems the same.
-
ya, don't worry. It just takes time. Make healthy choices! Congrats on your banding.... Good Luck!
-
Ooooo, don't worry. You are just getting started. You may not feel anything for a couple of fills. Consentrate on healing and on making good choices. Good Luck to you!
-
I'm sorry to hear that. Well, exercise should help relieve stress. Instead of eating... exercise (easy for me to say) Just try to make healthy food choices, not junk. Best of Luck to you!

5.5 cc and I think it's working, if I could just listen!
TKW replied to slm2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear ya. I never think it's enough and it is usually too much! -
An adjustment won't help you make healthy choices. If you can eat 1/2 a sandwich and be full, i don't know if you need a fill. That sounds about right to me. You need to get back in the game. You know what to eat, it's so darn hard at times. I know it is, but you can do it. You have to want to do it, and it sounds like you do. Start fresh, like you just had the band and get back to thinking and eating like you did when you lost that 30 pounds. It's hard, but it is do-able. You did it once. The right choices are a very very big part of this process. Going back in for a check up / fill may still be a good idea. Get in and talk to them, they are there to help and want you to succeed. Don't be ashamed. We all struggle. VERY Best of luck to you! You can do it!!!

Check the Vitamins you are taking. I was taking a multi Vitamin at first and was absolutely exhausted. Come to find out.... No Iron in it. You need a Multi Vitamin/Mineral. Those have iron. Made all the difference in the world for me! Good Luck

Wanna-Be: Absolutely, anything I can do to help, you will find lots of helpful people on here. Cindy: I agree, soup is a great option, and healthy, but I just don't get full on it. It seems like the times I eat soup I "nibble" a lot between my meals. Passes through the band too easily for me. I do eat it once in a while. I like to make home made soups cuz I can get them nice and chunky. I was just using soup as an example. Keep up the Battle!

You do feel fuller sooner and are able to eat less food, but not if you eat slider foods or wash your food down by drinking with your meals. There are ways to work "around" your band. It's better to work with it.
-
Working the band to me means. - Eating healthy choices - Eating 60 g of protien every day - Stay away from "slider" foods (except occassionally) - Drinking at least 64 oz of Water every day - Never drinking with meals or 1/2 hr before/after - Exercising regularly - No soda or cafinated coffee (i drink coffee) I feel if I do not do all of these things I don't lose weight. If you eat and wash the food down with water, you will be able to eat more. If you eat things like Soup (you can have soup) or ice cream or things that go right thru your band instead of filling you up, you will likely eat more and lose slower. The band seems to work best and be most sucessful for people who "work" the band or "follow" the lap band rules. This is my interpretation of "working the band" Good Luck to you!

WLS support group.....dunno if that was such a good idea
TKW replied to JinTx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Our support group is really uneventful. We do a lot of sitting there looking at each other. We don't have a very structured group, no agenda. We all just kind of say whatever. Seriously thinking of not going anymore. Anyone got good ideas on how to run a better group? -
For all those who have lost 100 pounds or more in a year
TKW replied to candeegal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I lost 127 pounds my first year. I counted calories and my protien to make sure I was getting enough. I never drank a protien shake after the first two weeks. I was pretty much a rule follower 1200- 1400 calories a day 64 oz of Water everyday (or more) never drank soda never drank caffinated coffee (I do now) Never Ever drank with my meals Exercised regularly (but not obsessivly) Ate what I wanted but really made healthy choices. However, if I wanted something that was a "treat", I had it. After that first year (it's been a year and 3 months) i got a little more lax. And my weight loss has shown that. I have only lost 5 pounds in the last 3 months. I think I need to get back to the basic rules and see if I can kick it back in to high gear. Good Luck to you! -
64 oz of fluid....that is difficult
TKW replied to JinTx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is really hard the first couple of days. Just drink as much as you can. Constantly sip on something. You probably won't get your 64 in, I didn't @ first but no, you don't want to get dehydrated. -

What about your bras?
TKW replied to Tired of being Tired's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just bought 2 new bra's this week too. I've lost 132 pounds and I went from a 52 DD to a 44DD. I also got fitted and measured. I have to buy Expensive bras for the girls if I want to keep them up were they belong so hopefully I can wear them for a while, but it not, oh well! I'd gladly buy more because these were too big. -
Well, I was initially told not to drink caffinated coffee because it is a diuretic and could aid in dehydration. I was told for every cup of coffee I drank I needed to drink an "extra" 16 oz of water. Now, I've been ok'd to drink coffee. I have a cup or 2. I just gotta have my coffee! It seems there are many different opinions on coffee... who knows what's right!

June bansters how much have you lost in 15 months?
TKW replied to ashley2369's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Banded June 29, 2010 and have lost 132 pounds. Lost pretty steady for a year, about 10 pounds a month. Summer has been tough. Have only lost 5 pounds since July 1, but it is better than gaining. Have got back on track Sept. 1st but my weight is just not moving very fast. Keep up the good work! -
Good job Tracie... keep up the good work! Doesn't it feel GREAT!

Re-starting my weight loss journey
TKW replied to OneToughCookie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
YEA! GOOD FOR YOU! You absolutely can do it. Do it for you and do it for that beautiful baby! Good Luck to you! -
LOL... I remember reading on here one time where someone was eating meat tenderizer by the spoon fulls. I thought that was a bit drastic, and if I remember it caused quite a heated debate.

PINEAPPLE JUICE/ OR I WALK - BRISKLEY

MY BMI was 68... I weighed 432 pounds. (that's hard to put in writing) This morning the scale read 300.2 and my current BMI is 47 and I can say with all honesty, even if I never lost another pound it was soooooo worth it. (ok... I would like to at least see 299!)

HATE protien drinks. I drank carnation instant breakfast with skim milk. Haven't touched a protien shake since 1 week post op! Although, ever since I hit my "sweet spot" 4 months ago I am finding it harder to meet my protien goal. Best of luck to you!
