Oikos key lime..... I'm addicted!

This is just my thoughts. But, finding the right restriction I think is key. I have good restriction, I get satisfied on about 1 cup of food. I can eat anything... Pasta, steak, bread (most of the time). I'm loose enough to eat healthy and most anything but have enough restriction to get full/satisfied on little food. Personally I think it sounds like you need a slight Un-fill. Don't give up quite yet without giving it a try! Best of Luck to you!

Hell.... I even like the before!!! Your surgeon did a great job!

I was banded 6/29/10 so it has been about 2 1/2 years. I have lost a total of 163 pounds. I just had my annual check up and was suprised that in the past year I was only down 26 pounds. My weight loss has slowed considerably but I am ok with it. It came of like gangbusters at first. When I think back though... I was way more dilligent when I first started this journey. I still feel like I am but I will allow myself little treats now (here and there) and I didn't at all the first year or so. I keep losing, slowly but surely... I've never really gained any back (a pound or two here and there but weight fluctuates and it is usually gone again as quick as it came.) I am hoping to make it through the next week without any gain and come January first really get back to the old ways and see what I can do. I have great restriction. I can eat most anything but I get satisfied on a cup of food. Keep up the Battle!!!! Nice work!

Well... yup, it works differently for everyone. Sometimes I get really frustrated because I'm eating low calorie and exercising my a$$ off and I lose barely nothing. Everything says it should be falling off me... but it doesn't. Just keep going....eventually, it's gotta give. Don't let yourself get discouraged you will have times where it moves quickly and times when you can't get it to budge. The key is to not give up! Good Luck!

yup.... totally normal. Congrats!

I lost what seemed like an enormous amount of hair a few months post op. Thank god I have really thick hair. I lasted for a month or so then it stopped and all came back.

All great ideas.... also, they make an arm peddal thing. it's like bike peddals only you use your arms. I've seen in in magazines and catalogs. any way to burn calories will help with weight loss. I had a knee that really bothered me. I joined a gym and did a lot of elliptical when I'd get home at night and sit on the couch I'd gently raise my leg to put it on the foot stool. One day I pain stakingly raised my leg to gently put it on the foot stool and I was completely astonished.... i had absolutely no pain in my knee. Have no idea when it disappeard but that was a year ago and it hasn't come back. Best of Luck!

seriously.... got to quit buying cloths that are too big. I just can't commit to that 2X when I was so used to a 5X so I keep buying 3x and they are just to damn big so I have several items I need to return. I swear hear and now. I will NEVER buy another 3X! (2x just seems so small to me )

Ya.... I don't care either but if it hurts your son I would definately have someone at the school deal with it, or the driver.

My opinion is you are too tight. Throwing up is the #1 cause of band slippage. Call your Dr.

well... I've never had a c-section but I'm guessing totally different if they are able to do it laporscopic. I had 5 very small incisions. I can't compare it to anyother surgery because it is the only surgery I had. 4 of my incisions were 1" or smaller and one was about 2" (where the port is).

hmmmm. no, i've never been subscribed to either of those nor have I ever been on their sites. Good Luck... that would bug me too!

Good for you.... stay strong, nothing is more important than you and your children. You are so worth the happiness you have found. Way to go... it takes more courage than most of us can even imagine! (((hugs))) -
I wonder if other had this issue??? do you know? Crazy Crazy Crazy

WOW!!! That is just plain rediculous that a nurse was filling everyone like that. I'm so sorry for your troubles. The new Dr. has different rules than your first but they all do. My Dr said no liquid calories either (once I was back to eating normal) I don't drink protien shakes, never have. But... I think, at least at first you need to follow the new Dr. suggestions. Once things are healed up and you are back to getting fills you will know what works for you. You've done it once so (in my opinion) if you eat solids for breakfast, once everything is back to normal that should be fine. What we are supposed to do in get in our protien, weather that is liquid or solid... as long as we are not overeating... does it really matter? Maybe, maybe not. I wish you the very best of luck, this was just not right... honestly that nurse should have her license revoked. And.... who was monitoring what she was doing??? I just can't believe that. It seems like it was sort of malicous???

Ya.... never owned one till a few months ago. I wonder had I owned one at 250 pounds if I would have ever gotten to 400 pounds??? That being said, I have to find a way to stay off it every day. I am up almost 3 pounds and I know it is a "monthly" thing even tho I am going thru menopause and don't often get my period the scale still shoots up on me once a month. I know this but it drives me crazy. CRAZY!

You make a life style change. you eat healthy and you make it a permanent thing. There is no going back to old habits or we will be right back where we started. Once at goal... moderation will be key. LOL... hoping this is the path I will follow!

I Hate Protein Shakes-Frustrated
TKW replied to Joy1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, you are doing amazing. Boy, that's your call. I never drank them. Drank a total of 2 the week after surgery. Just didn't like them (but I didn't try many) The almond milk might be just fine mixed with your protien.? Worth a try. Nice job on the weight loss so far! -
IT'S THE ONE meat I have never been stuck on. Sometimes when I am eating a meat of any kind I just can't swallow it cuz I can't get it chewed. I don't even have to think about it anymore, I just spit it out when that happens. I think you should try a better cut.

Breakfast: greek yogurt lunch : cup of chili, or salad with left over protien from night before or chicken salad with miraclewhip light and crackers. Supper: Protien such as steak, chicken, pork chop, walleye etc. veggie or salad sometimes add a starch like potato or rice. Snacks: greek yogurt or cheese

I Think I Need Some Kind Encouragment...
TKW replied to OldMomOf3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'd go back to tracking.... there is something about those "extra" calories staring you back in the face that keeps you from eating them the next time. I find tracking to be one of my most beneficial tools. Your weight loss is great... if tracking helps motivate you do it!!! -
I Wish I Could Say Holy Crap!!!
TKW replied to lovinjacobe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is very common for me too. I go 4 or 5 days most of the time. I don't feel constipated and when I finally go... all seems normal. I don't like to take something all the time so since I don't feel bloated or anythig I've kind of just been going with it. Every now and then I do have to take a laxitive. I am going to run this by my regular dr when I have my annual physical in a couple of weeks.
