Trying To Decide - Does It Really Stop Your Hunger??
TKW replied to SueAnneE's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Totally helps my hunger. I get full! That is not to say that sometimes I don't get the munchies! It has seriously helped me with my hunger. -
I have not experienced a leak but from what I have read on here, sometimes it is the tubing that is leaking or it is leaking at the port, and then they can just fix or replace as needed. It will all depend on what is leaking. Wish you the best of luck

I was on liquids for 2 days then mushies. I lived on cottage cheese and yogurt! Congrats and Good Luck!

Post Surgery...will You Have To Get Fills And Unfills The Rest Of Your Life?
TKW replied to marketingdude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I picture hitting my goal weight and never having to have fills or unfills... unrealistic? Probably. -
No, but I was/am a food aholic. I worried my self sick on how I was going to give food up especiall sweets. Oddly, it wasn't that hard. Oh I still induldge once in a while but I fill up on healthy stuff and don't keep junk in the house. It works for me! Good Luck!

Lapband Relationship Curse - A Night Of Thinking...
TKW commented on Tuckersmommy10's blog entry in Tuckersmommy10's Blog
I'm sorry for the negative comment. I grew up in a home like that, after 17 years..... well, that's my story, not yours. I hope everything works out for you and your family. -
3 months post surgery My hair started to fall out like crazy. It lasted a couple of months and then quit and has come completely back. I have super thick hair tho... so nobody really noticed. But it drove me crazy! My dr. told me that usually after a surgery people will loose their hair. (?)

Amazing... Congrats to you all!

All of them, I tried a couple of different ones. Just couldn't do it. I used the sugar free Carnation Breakfast.
-
Well. I drank a total of 2 in the past 2 years. Hate them. Yes, I absolutely get all of my protien from chewable food.(I track it) My Dr. doesn't want me to get any calories, at all, from liquid (beverages). It's worked for me! Good Luck!
-
Hate them. Drank 2. Carnation Instant Breakfast with skim milk is the only thing I could get down.

Strength Training.

I was going to say the same thing. Your scared and uncomfortable with the sleeve and want the band. I would think your phych would understand that.
-
gosh... this seems to be the topic today (multiple slips) Don't you wonder how you gain weight when you are throwing up everything you are eating. I feel very fortunate today. Best of Luck
-
Thats just nuts... Hope they figure it out soon.

I think you can with repeated over eating, but supposidly every bite should go through your band before you take the next, if this is true I think it would really take a lot to stretch it. (this is just my thoughts - I could be way wrong) Until I had good restriction I could eat way more than my cup of food. It had been a year since I had a fill... And I had gotten so I could eat quite a bit more food. went in and only had 0.2 cc put in my band. I now have trouble getting a cup of food down. So I don't feel like I have stretched my pouch with overeating. Although it is not something I repeatidly do. Uff... stopping when you are full is still so hard! Ultimately... getting it under control is the only answer for so many reasons. Best of Luck!

So is there no chance, with a complete unfill that it can go back into place? I would be devistated if I lost my band. Wishing you the best.

Frustrated.
TKW replied to Wisdom2KnowTheDifference's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would let it run through the insurance also. It doesn't take that long, a few weeks probably less if they say no! Good luck to you. -
Well, I don't think you need a fill. Yes a tiny bit can make all the difference. I went almost 5 months with out losing an ounce 294.4 every flipping time I got on the scale. I seen my dr. we both agreed I did not need a fill. Seen my nutritionist, she said everything I was doing/eating was great. Exercise - great. She suggested I add strength training to my exercise routine. I joined the "pump it" class twice a week. After the first week I broke that plateau. That was 3 months and 15 pounds ago!
