Good for you. You deserve it. It is the absolute best thing I have ever done for myself. Welcome!
-
Hi Dawn Welcome - hope you can find the support and answers to your question here. I could always eat more than a cup too until i got to the right restricion which took me about 1 year. Other than the band I think what has been the most beneficial to my weight loss is exercise and logging my food. I use MyFittnessPal and it keeps track of my calories in and burned and my protien. Really helps keep me accountable to myself and you really see what you are eating. Sometimes it is way more than you think. I think you will see that a lot of bandsters here log their food. Anyway, welcome and best of luck to you on your journey!

Water - get enough water! Also, quick cure. swig of pickle juice or a spoon full of mustard. They go away within seconds.
-
when you use your muscles they retain water. Exercise is my savior, I think it is just as important as my band! Keep up the good work, the benefits will be amazing! Good Luck!

Good for you... It's never to late! Good Luck!

yep... too tight!
-
no, i do them. How far post op are you? My port area was soar for a good 8 weeks.
-
don't be.... weight fluctuates. Every now and then I'll be 3 pounds up but it disapears again pretty quickly. You could be retaining Water, getting your period, it all can affect your weight by a couple of pounds. I didn't get on a scale till 6 weeks past my surgery. I still don't own one. I weigh once a week at the gym sometimes more.

I cross mine a lot too... because, seriously, my entire adult life... I have never been able to. I've heard that too but not sure why it's not good for you.
-
You'll be amazed at all the noises!!! But most of mine have gone away.

TKW replied to farmgirl04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Typically the only thing I eat for breakfast is greek yogurt because I can't get much down in the morning either. I have thought about experimenting with shakes but.... they just don't apeal to me. Although... I have not tried many. -

TKW replied to knknosmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I should show you a picture of my arms.... Of course I was much much heavier than you and quite a bit older. They bother me more than anything. But... it's worth it. -
Protein Shakes Months Later?
TKW replied to farmgirl04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 years and 2 months post op... I've drank 2 protien shakes (total) I don't like them and my dr. doesn't want me consuming ANY liquid calories because he says it doesn't fill you up (I don't know that I agree with that) Anyway... yesterday I had a total of 106g of protien, so I don't have a problem getting my protien. I also track everything on MyFittnessPal. It really helps! -

Love those 10 pound marks. I plateaued at 300.4 for 6 weeks. Wanted to cry, as a matter of fact I did several times. I just could not get past 300.4 no matter how I ate or how much I exercised! It finally let go... then I cried again! Nice job... hope the 20's go that fast for you! -
Nice job - I got tired just reading it! Don't know that I will ever be a runner.

Newly Banded With A Question....
TKW replied to Tsign36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes... pretty normal, it should let up! Congrats and Good Luck! -
just a guess... but I'm gonna say a lot of us did! Just get back to it, you'll do GREAT!
-
WoooHooo! Congrats!

Well, according to MFP your net calories should include the exercise calories you burn. So if you are set for 1200 calories and you burn 500 in exercise you should eat 1700 calories. Not saying I agree or disagree but that is the way MFP suggest. I do not eat back all of my exercise calories.

I don't have problems with either. Heck, yogurt can some times cause problems. It is all an individual thing. Also, both can be pealed, that would help a lot.

My First Incounter With You Took The Easy Way Out With Lap Band
TKW replied to susansoul's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, it has by no means been the easiest diet i've been on but it has definately been the most successful! We use tools every day to make out life easier. Cars, dishwashers, vacuume cleaners, computers and cell phones, in my opinion the lap band is no different and people who think it is the "easy way" are too ignorant on the subject for me to even care about! -
What Size In Cc Is A Large Band
TKW replied to tonyann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the lap-band brand and it is 10 cc my brother has lap-band brand 14 cc? Well, I was very heavy and the weight came off like gang busters at first! Miss those days. Weather that has anything to do with being very heavy or that I was dilligent about the rules... I don't know. -
LOL... sometimes don't you just wish you had never said it in the first place?

Next time she drives somewhere you should suggest she walk instead of taking the easy way and driving her car!
