hmmm. I don't know. If it were me, I'd call your Dr.

weight can EASILY fluctuate 1 - 2 pounds. It really means nothing. You could get on the scale tomorrow and be down 2 pounds. Too much salt - reataining Water. Have you pooped lately. This happens to me every now and then. It usually goes away as quickly as it comes. So, if you are not over eating or eating junk... I say don't worry about it. Theoretically - you would have to eat 3500 calories over what you burn in a day to gain 1 pound. So say you could maintain at 1600 calories. You'd have to eat 5100 calories to gain 1 pound. I don't know how a lap-bander could do that unless you were drinking malts all day?

TKW replied to krazykristy1998's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya, i couldn't feel mine at first. Now... it protrudes! -
yup... i'd wait.

LOL... just go with the flow. My symtoms were mild. Haven't had my TOM in 3 years. Well not exactly true, 1 time in 3 years and that was about 6 months ago. Don't miss it!

The waiting is the worst! Best of Luck!

Hi FL - I'm in ND. Grand Forks though, so my fills are done at the hospital. I 'm thinking Bismarck is where you'll have to go. I know a girl from St. Johns which is by the N. Border and she has to go to Bismarck. Good Luck. Welcome Home!

I still see the old me.... uff! Sometimes tho I see a picture of me now and I can't believe it's me. But looking in them mirror... it's usually the old me.

I'd ask that they take 1/2 of the fill they put in - out. Good place to start. Good Luck.

yup. 0.1 cc can make all the difference in the world. DO NOT let your self get dehydrated. I'd go to the ER

Is Salad A Red Flag Food?
TKW replied to sharklove82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No but Ken's Steak House Lite Ceasar is amazing... Yumm-O -
I would say you are too tight. You are eating slider foods that are way more fattening (ice cream) to be able to get food down. 1 cup of icecream has 300 calories in it. And really if I ate ice cream I know I'd eat 2 cups especially if I was telling myself... 'Well, I haven't eaten all day so I can have Ice Cream" Personally, I don't think a "tight band" is the way to do this whole thing but that is my personal opinion. I can eat anything, I just eat small quantities of it. I know there are many successful banders that are "very tight". But unless you are very controlled... you are sabotaging yourself with "slider foods" like ice cream. Do you keep track of your calories? Best of Luck to you.

Good for you. It really was the best thing I've ever done for myself and my gosh... you are already working so hard at the exercise and stuff, You are set for success! Best of Luck!

LOL... get ready for a million different answers. I was told "Coffee (caffeine) is a diuretic, therefore it aides in dehydration and we should not drink it" Months after my surgery, my dr. said it was fine to drink as long as I was getting enough Water. She said that for every cup of coffee, I needed to drink 1 extra glass of water. I drink it, but I do drink plenty of water.

I would probably never do it, but we are supposed to be learning to eat "right" or "healthy". So you should be able to continue those habits. I can't imagine having mine removed though unless it was a necessity.

Lapband And Wine Or Alcohol Once In Awhile?
TKW replied to tonyann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
LOL i mean (the beer) shot out of her like a rocket, along with the little bit of appetizers she had consumed, all over. Caught her by suprise. I don't know if she guzzled half a bottle down or what, it was a woman at one of my support group meetings. I didn't know her well enough to quiz her but we had a good laugh. She was utterly humiliated, not to mention her husband. I have coughed before and had food fly out of my mouth. (think that's a sign I've over eaten???) uff dah! -
Lapband And Wine Or Alcohol Once In Awhile?
TKW replied to tonyann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know a woman who had lapband put in. Her husband got a very nice promotion at his job about a month after she had had her surgery. His company took them out for a nice spendy dinner. She thought she'd Celebrate so she ordered a beer. She took one drink, sat there for a couple of seconds and "EXPLODED" all over the table! The carbonation did not sit with her at all. Once in a while I really want a beer... but I have stayed clear of them! -
I agree... I was in the "green zone" but after losing 100 more pounds I needed another fill. It really is an indiviual thing.

Lapband And Wine Or Alcohol Once In Awhile?
TKW replied to tonyann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a drink once in a while. Wine or something not carbonated would be your best choice but once in a while I'll have a mixed drink, I just stir it around a little to get rid of the extra carbonation. MMMMM one of those nice fruity Hawiian drinks yummmm! Biggest concern is empty calories - I say ENJOY yourself! -
I was told that usually after a surgery you will lose hair also. OMG I lost so much I was starting to freek out (i have a lot of thick hair) but it all came back! And yes - protien!
-
I had some restriction right from the start but I would say I didn't hit the green zone till about my 4th fill. I stayed at that fill level for over a year and just a couple of months ago had 0.2 cc's added to my band. AMAZING how such a little bit made such a huge difference. Remember it is different for everyone. Some people lose all their weight and never have a fill. Good Luck!

Congrats - good luck on your journey!
