I have been thinking about lapband surgery every since I have seen ReaizeBand commercials on TV. This prompted me to research bariatric surgery & gave me the decision that I wanted to find out more about & reasearch how I could have this procedure done to aide in my weight loss goals. I've been overweight my entire life! I've tried LA Weight Loss, Medical Weight Loss, Weight Watchers, working out with a personal trainer & even starving myself & nothing has worked long term. I visited my primary care physician and after sharing my concerns she ran test and found that I have polysistic ovaries, slightly high blood pressure and borderline diabetes. That sealed the deal for me. She referred me to Dr. Elhorr. I met with him for a very informative seminar (which gave me even more info & insight) and then I waited....Dr Elhorr then called after about 3 weeks or so and told me to see a therapist, come in for a stomach scope, meet with the dietician, and then come to his office for a final pre exam to submit to my insurance company. While waiting for my insurance to approve or deny me, I continued my internet research, joined the Youtube Lapband Community & starting trying to change my eating habits to show my dedication. On September 2nd, 2010 all of my paperwork, exam results and information was sen tto my insurance company and by October 2nd I was approved and given my surgery date!! OCTOBER 15, 2010! I was shocked, happy & scared all at the same time. I am super excited starting this journey at 274 lbs....by January 1, 2011 I hope to be 230 lbs and continue my weight loss from there to reach my ultimate goal of 149 lbs! It's going to be a long journey ahead but I am willing and ready to put in the work to accomplish my on and off scale goals.
