How do you get 80 grams of protein in? I'm lucky if I get 30. Thia ia my biggest struggle.

I'm sorry you had to go through so much, I hope you're feeling better now. I am very glad I've gone through with the surgery. I am down 66 pounds. It is an adjustment to eating differently but well worth it. I haven't had any medical issues at all. I've had two fills already and go for a check-up/fill next week if they agree to do another one.

I had my first fill last week and I had about 10 pieces of lettuce and two cherry tomatoes and I did fine. I really miss salad. Someone told me that you don't really feel so restricted until your 3rd or 4th fill. Anyone think that is correct? I feel a little more restricted my not much. Corkee

Me either since I was six! lol I'm glad you spoke to the nurse, we all have to learn from each other. I started exercizing today and I think that will make a big difference. Good luck! Corkee

Hi, I was banded 11/19 and actually got my first fill today because I was on vacation when it was really time. So I'm back to liquids for today. If you aren't feeling full you should definately call your doctor. Write anytime if you need support. Corkee

I was banded 3 weeks ago and because I'm going away on vacation I won't get my first fill until January 7th. I can eat about 4 oz. for each meal but I'm hungry again in 1 hour. I try to stick to 2 Snacks a day but I still have the habit of grazing all the time. I guess also because I haven't gotten the fill that I seem to be able to eat everything no problem. I guess that will change once I get the fill and the opening is smaller. Am I doing harm; will I stretch my stomach? Thanks for any help, Corkee

How are you feeling after your first fill? Are you filled up quickly now? I have my band for 2 weeks and I can eat anything just like before, i can't wait for the fill. People keep asking me how much I lost, it's kinda weird becasue I haven't lost anymore since the first week. I can't wait until 4 oz. fills me up. Let me know how's it going and how you feel. Lemon chick, I thought we were only supposed to eat 4oz? A cup might be more satisfying. I don't get a fill until Jan. 7 because I'm going to Florida for 2 weeks for the holidays. I can't wait for the fill. I was banded Nov 19 I know the weight will come off. I decided to only weight myself once a week so I don't obsess about it. I'm having trouble with the timing of eating and exercising with work but I know it's a process. I'm so glad to have a place to speak out. Thanks! Corkee

It's a shame we lost the whole group, I hope everyone comes back. I am now 4 days post op. I was told I can start eating mushies on Saturday; that's exciting. I do feel a little hungry but last night I had 1 oz. of Jello and I felt full. Interesting feeling. lol Have a great TYhanksgiving everyone, be grateful we aren't going to have belly aches from being too full and eating too much desert. Randee -

We do! I hope we can share this also. It's frightening. My husband does not want me to have this. That's been my biggerst struggle. My kids and friends are very supportive of me. I know he is afraid. I have to do this, I'm getting to old to relay on weight loss, I don't want to have a stroke or worse. My private email is corkee@comcast.net and my name is Randee. I went to the support group last night at the hospital. Were you there? I'll see you the day of surgery for sure! I'm excited! I have two boys, 21 and 23. Are you doing any special diet before surgery? It seems everyone else is.
