I had to visit my doctor once a month for six months before the insurance would approve. After my first visit in Sept my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I wanted to go to the cancer treatment facility with her for moral support but she refused.  She wanted me to stay at my job - keep my insurance and see my doctor to get the surgery and get healthy. She passed away in December. I tried to have my surgery date set to her birthday March 26th but the insurance company stalled for three weeks before approving setting date to early May. I feel like every pound I lose is for my Mom and this was still a birthday present to her.
