I had my first fill today and I put on 1lb which im not going to cry about cos I can eat just about anything...actually surprised it wasnt more lol! So thats me now got 5ml in my band, see how that goes Yeah Sara aslong as you chew chew chew then you shouldnt really have any problems but its a bummer when you find out what gets stuck. Another for me is tuna, had a painful experience with that and ive never attempted bread but dont think I will tbh. Ive not heard of the 5day pouch test...sounds good! xx -

Hi Sara, Well done on your weight loss so far I waited 10 days before introducing mushies and it was really mushy like mashed potatoes and gravy. I tried eggs and they got stuck, even now they still get stuck so I stay away from them but some people can manage them. I also had stovies and mince mixed in with potatoes, anything really with quite a smooth consistency.....soup also is a good choice I built up the consistency every week until I managed solids (most solids anyway) Its really just trial and error. I am getting my second fill tomorrow....so far lost 24lbs but stayed the same for a few weeks and can pretty much eat full portions and snack so hoping this will give me some restriction but im glad I havent put on. xxx -

Well today I experienced my first 'stuck' moment and it wasnt good I have been fine on solids until I tried tuna.......OMG I thought I was going to die lol and I was at college in the cafe, was trying to hide my pain it was awful! Had a wiggle about and a sip of coke and that seemed to sort it out but its safe to say I will not let tuna into my life again lol! I still feel like I have some restriction even though its just the 1 fill ive had, I am eating more but still not as much as I could manage before the band...well no where near that amount lol! I am struggling with food I can take to college for lunch, anyone got any idea? Would cous cous be ok? Thanks xx -

Hello I had my first fill today by Dr Chris, cant believe he remembered me lol unless everything is in his laptop, that would explain it haha! He put 3ml in and it never hurt woohoo lol I was nervous about drinking afterwards but so far so good! I was expecting it to be busy but I was the only 1 there and when I left a lady was going in. Anyway booked my next fill for end of Feb and Dr Chris said I have lost 23lb.....mega chuffed! Hope everyone is ok Slinky do you think this fill you had will give you restriction now? I am worried about getting hungry again but hopefully the month flies in xxx -

I still cant eat very much, can just about manage the weight watchers meal for 1....if it continues like that I will be chuffed lol. Good luck to everyone xxx -

Did everyone have a good xmas? I was dreading the dinner time etc but I actually managed it, I cooked it all myself and everyone tucked into yummy food while I had a shake lol had a great day though and got very spoilt hope everyone else had a nice day. Been having such a lazy day today watching lots of films and I dont intend on doing anything else lol. I dont really find the liquid diet hard honeybelle, ive tried all the slimfast shakes etc before but they never filled me up so it was really hard to stick to but now I cant finish a full shake. Just hoping when the mushy and solid stage comes it will be as easy, im a bit nervous tbh! Not long to go til your date xxx -

Advice on whether to go ahead or not
xcharlenex replied to ruralgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi luv, I understand how you are feeling. It took me 2 years to finally take the plunge and have the band fitted which was done 5 days ago. My friend had hers done about 2 years ago in Belgium, she was over 20 stone and is now at a healthy 9 stone I dont think it's a miracle, I would say it's more of a tool as you have to work with the band to lose weight. For me, I tried everything under the sun and the band really was a last resort and I am determined to work with it. No one can really tell you yes go for it or no dont as it's your choice at the end of the day. Sorry I couldnt help more x -
Hi, I was banded 5 days ago and only uncomfortable thing I am having is the tenderness in my stomach but its not sore, gets better every day and I can pretty much move about. Not so good if I cough though lol! I'm not aware of the port either and i'm sure I read that shoulder pain is wind, maybe you can get something for the chemist for that? Hope it eases soon but I wouldn't worry, everyone is different x

I am dreading when my appetite returns, need to train my brain lol! So Monday I start mushy foods yippeeee! Mash and gravy is something I am looking forward to and weetabix, I miss weetabix! I havent cooked home made soup in a while, maybe I should start doing that cos it's much nicer than tins or cup a soups and at least my daughter can have some too. She keeps sipping my milkshakes when im out the room lol think she wants to be on the same diet Do you manage bread ok? My downfall was probably bread and although i'm not missing it just now, I do like a slice of toast for brekkie but if its a no no or better off without then I will stick to weeabix and ready brek xx -

I am ok with needles and the injections you can't really feel at all, my flabby bits must be too big haha!! It's just aswell I dont mind needles cos before I went for my op, they were supposed to take blood and obviously forgot so they were rushing. Anyway my veins arent the best at most of the time and they were finding it hard so they opted for the veins at my wrist....OH MY LORD I was ready for punching her in the face ( you could tell she was rushing and desperate to get this blood drawn but I honeslty thought I was going to pass out, the blood was dripping out my wrist everywhere and the time I got down to theatre Dr Chris came to see me and he was really really angry at the nurses when he seen my wrist. I have huge bruises all over my arm so ive had to hide them incase people think i'm up to something lol but that wasnt the best experience! Not trying to put you off but maybe best to remind them to take your blood, I was in there at 7 and my op was at 1 yet they left it til 12.55 to take it :/ apart from that it was a good experience lol and the nurses were really lovely. I can't believe I have lost 10lbs already since having the op......does a bit of that go back on or am I home free?LOL I am finding the whole liquid diet easy but I think it's cos i'm not hungry, it's completely different when you try that kind of diet and constantly hungry but it's going well so far. Just wondering though...see how they give you crispbreads in hospital, is it ok to have them at this stage too cos I really liked them? They sort of melt in your mouth anyway but yummy with butter and jam Think that's what I will be having for xmas dinner lol xx -

Hi, I finally got home woohooo what a nightmare but I am here and that's all that matters Still feeling pretty good and can move about more too, was nervous going on a flight incase I felt sick but thankfully never needed the anti sickness tabs they give you and i'm also surprised I got through securtiy with they syringes No one really knows that I was away except my mum, not even my best friends but ive never really found the right time to tell them.....maybe after xmas lol for some reason I feel nervous about it but I know I shouldnt cos i'm not embarassed or anything, I just know they will go rather mental at me spending that amount of money although it's something it's making me happier and they wont understand really as they are skinny malinkies lol my daughter knows though and she is only 9 and is very supportive, even said she will keep it a wee secret if I dont want to tell anyone bless her cotton socks! I am going to get my first fill booked for January in Edinburgh....never got a chance to meet Frederick cos of the weather in Brussels so hopefully I meet him in person at some point. I need to change that ticker, I made it ages ago and took me long enough to get back on here lol. Back at college today for like 1 class until 10th January, could really be doing with staying in my jim jams but I have an assessment I need to get out the way. Just hope the roads are a bit better today. xx -

Thought I was lucky to get away from it. Hope everyone is ok x -

Hiya, it can be tricky finding this thread again, I keep losing it was trying to get on yesterday to see what things I needed to take to brussels but I'm here now lol! Get my op tomorrow.....very nervous!! Has anyone stayed at this campanile hotel and know if there is an ATM close by? I was in a rush this morning cos of the snow, freaking out incase I never made it in time and I've left my spare euros at home!! I literally have zilch pennies unless I get to an ATM. Also did anyone get the package with Frederick? Do they include your taxi back to the airport? I am freaking out now haha xx
