    Approved/date

Congratulations on getting your date. You are 2 days behind me, I am having mine on the 19th. Dianne
  2. I finally have a surgery date and it is July 19th. I started this journey back in Oct. and I am now just a month away, it felt like it would never come. I am so excited to get this done. I needed to come here to read tonight because my husband has been talking about how worried he is about everything and anything about this surgery and honestly, I haven't had a second thought since I started this whole journey. I asked him if he would just give me his support and he said he would support me, but he was worried. Thank you everyone for posting your stories, the good and the bad, because I do feel that I have learned so much and know that it isn't going to be all roses at first, but that I will love my sleeve. I can't wait. Dianne
  3. Hi everybody, I am Dianne and have been a lurker on this board since October, I think. I was researching surgery after my husband got a new job in Sept. and the insurance covered bariatric surgery. I was really looking at the lap band, but I had really been thinking that I was going to just have gastric bypass. Well, then I saw on the surgeon's website about VSG. Well, I started researching and have been full steam ahead for VSG ever since. I have been overweight my whole life and am really ready for a change. I have 3 beautiful children through the miracle of adoption and I want to be here to see them grow up and have children of their own. And I want to be able to play with them and their children someday. I am looking at surgery probably in June. I have completed 4 of my 6 required monthly appointments. My sleep study is done, with no sleep apnea!!!!! I have 1 of 2 psych. appointments completed, the 2nd is on April 5th. After next month's meeting, I will make an appointment to meet the surgeon and then after the last meeting, they will submit to insurance. I just have to really work on getting my A1C below 8, because they won't do surgery until then and I have to have my Vit. D rechecked because it was really low. I love reading this board, everyone is so helpful. Dianne
