Been having acid reflux waking up to have to vomit for about the last six months. Had some fluid taken out, so at least it's not every night now. I think I need to quit eating earlier in the evening before going to bed. Any suggestions I work a variety of shifts at work makes supper time after 8pm alot of nights.

I have to go on a business trip. This will be my first flight since having the band put in. Should I expect any problems? Any suggestions as far as taking protien along on the trip ?? I don't want to take a whole big container I'll only be gone four days. Protien as carry on or just in baggage? My band is as tight as I can get it and still eat. I asked for the extreme before I moved and boy did I get it. My husband has finally figured out how much I can eat without throwing up. I was vomiting after every meal for awhile and live to far to go to the doctor every time I may need an adjustment. I'm concerned about eating in front of people because of eating slow and not being able to eat a full plate of food they serve. I've requested smaller portions and no large vegatables. I'd rather not eat than have to keep leaving the table to go vomit. Anyone got anything else I'm forgetting about?

so what about taking powered protien along? With the area and the meetings I'm going to be going to it's either take something with me or do without. and what about vitamins are they going to say anything about taking medications along?

why can't you drink margaritas they have no carbonation?

Me too I'm about 170 and can squeeze into a 12. So how did you achieve and maintaine your weight loss? I'm down 53 pounds in about six months. Need to exercise more but I work eat and sleep. Work doesn't even give me time to eat a lunch most days. I just take a protien bar along to eat when I get a minute.

Thank you. I have used a straw with no problems and drink a sip of pop now and then. Think I'll lay off the pop don't want any erosion. Hoping I can exercise enough to lose four pounds this week. I go back for a weight check only next week and that would make 50 pounds I've lost since Dec. 28th. My goal to exercise my toosh off this week!! )

why is it we can't drink pop or use a straw I forgot??

how much weight did you lose that your insurance paid for the cosmetic changes?

I know exactly how you feel I've heard the "are you suppose to be eating that??" comment too. They just have no clue. Know that you have friends on here that believe in you. You can do anything you set your mind to!! I haven't lost any weight since Jan 4th but I guess it's all part of the process as long as I don't gain any weight before my first fill next week I'll be happy. I've even considered going back on the liquid diet for a week till my doctors apt next week just to lose weight, but not sure if it's worth it.

I love reading the blogs on here. This is an excellent way of learning and supporting each other with the lapband. Just looking for people to email and make friends with on here. I don't have much home support and not much into going to the support meetings they are out of town and not very convient with my work.

I've been happy as long as I don't gain any weight during this time. I go for my first fill next week. I'm hoping they put enough in that I don't have to keep paying to go back all that often. I've thought about going back on the liquid diet for a week just to lose more weight before I go to the doctor, not sure it's worth it though. I was looking at pictures today and that's depressing to see no change in a month. All part of the process I guess. Just know you have friends on here knoebelcamper!!

Good luck on getting banded tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck with that. And just remember the soreness does go away eventually.

Post op two and a half weeks to go until I get an adjustment. Still eating smaller portions and haven't gained any weight since surgery. Need to work on exercising more. Always tired after working it's an effort to come home from work and exercise. Every thing goes down fine now except bread. Need to put more variety in my diet as well.

I'm trying to figure out where the port sight is, haven't been in for a fill yet. I thought it was where my scar is, but last couple days my side has been hurting up higher like right under my rib and feels all tight . I had been walking ok, but yesterday it hurt so bad I almost couldn't finish my walk. Keep hoping I'm just paranoid. Banded 12-28-10 still have 3 more weeks before I go back to the doctor.

How would you know if something was wrong with your port sight? How bad would the pain be? How long should you have pain at the port sight after surgery?

I'm same way only my husband and son know. My work knows I'm having surgery, but not why. It makes having a support system harder though.

I was hoping to get my appointment by the end of the year, but had to wait for insurance to ok it and it didn't look as if they would. But then everything changed within two days of being told I'd probably be denied they called and said I was approved. date set for dec 28th. I can understand your concerns and frustrations on time, but just remember there is always a reason why things happen like they do. Good luck
