    Let the fun begin!

Well it's another day with my band and things are still going well :crying: Thanks for your message Rose, may check out the Oct 10 banders. That's the amazing thing about this forum, so much help and information available.:mad2: Thanks for your comment Cherie, great to hear from you. My bloated feeling is easing now, I've been taking some Gripe?? (..some type of baby stuff) as recommended by my clinic. I'm back at home, been walking only short distances, getting used to the strange feeling in my belly but very pleased that I had it done. :smile2: Each day that passes the better I feel. I see adverts for fast food and would have been tempted to binge but now I have no desire to touch it...in fact I'm really looking forward to eating a cucumber salad :tt2:!! Hope you chaps are doing ok, speak to you soon :frown:

    Are there any guys here?

Here's another guy! Just had my band done yesterday, had a bit of pain after waking up from surgery which 5mg of morphine cured. No pain since then, been walking, sipping fluids and enjoying the fact I have a physical/psychological band in place to help me. I need to learn to work with the band. I help him, he'll help me! As other posts have mentioned, it's not a magic bullet. It's a means of helping to change your long term relationship to food, and as a consequence weight will be shed, self esteem and health will improve. Follow the rules and enjoy the journey:thumbup:
  5. I'm officially a bandster :puke: Thanks rockstar for your comments, I really appreciate it! The operation went well, especially after the 5mg of morphine :crying: I've no pain with trapped wind, I've been walking about no problems. I've been sipping fluids, having hiccups and am looking forward too baggy trousers

    Let the fun begin!

Well, I'm now officially a bandster:party:Thanks for the message Laura, great to hear from you! Went into surgery at 16:00 and was back in my room at 17:00, thought it felt like there was an elephant sitting on my chest! The 5mg of morphine helped :arf:. I have read about other peoples experiences about pain due to trapped wind, but I had no problems with that at all. I've been sipping fluids for most of last night and the morning, though maybe I drank too much or too quickly as I'm feeling bloated and have hiccups....though it's a great feeling to be bloated on fluids rather than pizzas, chocs, KFC etc :puke: The physical/psychological prescence of the band is helping me change my mind set regarding food, though it is early days yet and I'm in no rush, one day at a time.:crying: Speak to you soon :seeya:
  7. Hi everyone, Newby here, my band's going in today, looking foreword to it  Really pleased to find this forum, it's exactly what I need as I cannot do it by myself. I only found it tonight, there's so much to read and so little time to do so:willy_nilly: I plan on writing a log on a daily basis with all the highs and lows. I hope to be doing this for the foreseeable future, as I'm in this for the long haul! I'll be staying in hospital tonight, so I'll let you know how things are going on Sunday... until then
  8. Hi everyone! Having my LAP-BAND® done today (9/10/10), really looking forward to it ...I did have a previous encounter with a gastric balloon which did not end well :puke:I've been yo-yoing for years and now feel it's time to pull the finger out! I plan on writing a daily log off my trials and tribulations, more to help me than bore you :frown: I must admit I cannot do this by myself and I am grateful for this forum to enable me to read and share your experiences  Let the journey begin
