Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi pet, listen dont worrry about it. I was the same as you, I ate really low fat for two weeks before the op and lost seven lb's but when I got over there and met all the rest of the peeps having it done they were all on the beer and eating like they were never going to eat again!! Fred even told them to stuff cake in their ears up til 12 the night before but after that not even as much of a sip of Water can pass your lips. My advise would be to enjoy the last few days to the fullest and have a ball.. i would looking back now i wish i did!! I was wondering if anyone knows will Chris Duprez charge me for an unfill? I got my third fill two weeks ago and havent been able to eat solids since, Iv lost ten lb's which is brilliant but I cant go like this. all that will stay down is chocolate and I am SICK of it by now!!! Never thought I'd see the day!! I am going to meet him tomorrow, and was just wondering if I will have to fork out again..???
  2. Hi there, does anyone know what the aftercare is like for Dr Chris in Ireland after you have the surgery and what happens if you have an emergency and need medical attention? I know Frederik is here the first Thursday of every month but what happens in between? I am booking it directly with Frederik and not going through any agencies as they are just ROBBERS so I was wondering can any of you tell me what the back up plan is for us Irish Bandster's

how much wieght loss before first fill

Hi all, i was banded on the 15th of feb and I am getting my first fill tomorrow, the 7th of April..... WOOOHOOOO!! Thank god. I lost 5lbs on my pre-op, and I have only lost 11 lb's in total. I have no restriction whatsoever, and I am even worrying that this was another waste of time. I was very good to start with and stuck to my liquids and mushies etc, but once I began to eat solids i found I could eat as much of whatever I wanted and I was so HUNGRY the last few weeks.. To read what is on here is very encouraging, I am hoping I will succeed this time, for good. Quick question, does anyone know how many cc's is in a heliogast evolution band? I am hoping 15.. fingers crossed!

    February 2011 Bandsters?

Hi everyone, im getting banded on the 15th of Feb in Belgium by Dr Christiaan De Bruyne and I am soooooo nervous but really excited. I just have to do a low fat diet two weeks before the surgery to shrink my liver (no fats oils butters etc) but I think I am going to do a week on shakes before it just to be safe. I have 80lbs to lose, my bmi is 35... would love to stay in touch with people going through the same thing!!

  11. Wow that is brilliant, were you sore after it? Did you get it done with Dr De Bruyne? I have been watching Bandedwendy on Youtube, she is brilliant. Documents EVERY little last thing of her journey and she has lost 100lbs.. Iv been up till all hours every night watching her videos :) I am so proud of you well done!!

  12. I have to find my PMA.. and concentrate on using it!! Only realising how negative I can be, and that has to change!

  13. Hi Anne, how did you get on in Belgium? I have been considering a gastric band for about a year now and I have finally decided to just go for it but i am really nervous about the journey home, and the operation! But I know I have to do it, I have struggled enough over the years. Add me as a friend and keep in touch, you are over the scary part now pet and I hope you are getting on great. Big hugs x

  14. Hi guys, I am 90% decided to get banded, I have the money, iv picked my surgeon, but i still have reservations and I think its just the physical act of having surgery and the unknown. I know I can make the adjustments to my diet and really want to do it, but Im scared of the surgery. Was anyone in so much pain that they regret having it done and how long before you were back on your feet properly? How much realistically can you eat and do you fell deprived at all? Any advice? Would love to hear from you xxx
  15. Hi everyone, Im hoping some of you can help me on this. I am based in ireland and as I have a bmi of 33 I am apparently not big enough to qualify for having the band in Ireland and if i did my medical insurance wouldnt cover it. There is a clinic over here who make bookings for a very well renowned surgeon in Belgium called Dr Christiaan De Bruyne who I have heard wonderful things about, but they are charging 6900 euro for the surgery and one years after care, while his site has the same op available for 4100 euro. I am torn between booking it directly with him and cutting out these robbers  but I am thinking about my after care. I know he visits the UK every week, and I could fly over to meet him i suppose but this would be very inconvenient. Are there any others out there from Ireland who have been banded by Dr De Bruyne? I would love to hear from you. I know that if i tired to book my aftercare seperate over here i would be RIPPED off.. But it still might be cheaper in the long run!!
  16. Hi guys, I was wodering if any of you Irish bandsters have heard about this new clinic called Auralia in Park West in Dublin? They are doing great packages considering this is "rip off Ireland" I dont know how long they are established though and would love to hear from anyone who was banded here?? Many thanks!!
  17. Hi guys, I was just in with my Company Dr today and asked her what she would think of me getting a band, and she basically told me that I was being ridiculous, I was too young (I am 30) and I would end up fatter than ever from it in years down the road I didnt have to tell her what I was thinking but I did want her honest opinion, and now Im so mad I did. I had my mind m ade up and I had my finance sorted and surgeon picked. I have 70lbs to lose and i cant face another diet.. She told me to do a micro diet :confused:and do pilates. I am so mad i could puke
  18. Hi guys, ok i am seriously considering getting a band done. I have 70lb (and rising!) to lose and I know I have done it before but I KNOW i cannot keep it off. I want my life back, I want to be beautiful again, I want to be able to wear beautiful clothes. I want to be able to go on holiday and wear a bikini. I want to look amazing in my wedding dress (in 2012 WOOHOO!) and I want to feel as good as everyone else in the world. I want to be able to carry a baby full term ( i have had two miscarraiges) and be fit enough to raise my child without having my weight holding me back from doing things with him or her. But when i think of having a band, i cringe.. ever so slightly.. What is my fear? I have had my gall bladder removed before, and sailed through the operation. I remember enjoying the anesthetic, Enjoying the sleep :tt2: But maybe it's not knowing about how I will cope AFTER the op.. the change of lifestyle, the smaller portions, the social element surrounded by food. Am i afraid of the pain after the op? I need to figure out what is holding me back, and just go for it. What is your fear? :smile2:

Hey hun, how are you getting on now? I am considering going to Dr Chris, very nervous about the surgery etc.. total chicken altogether :unsure:How did you find it?

    Hi there

Hi pet, I am in the very same position as you are, I am 30, I have a bmi of 33 and have no quality of life due to my weight. I really honestly know how you feel. I recently suffered a miscarraige and even though i dont think it was related to my weight I cant be so sure. I also have prolapsed disks in my back and im nearly crippled because of them. Are you in Ireland? I am still in the reaearch stage and going through a whirlwind of emotions, it would be great to have a buddy to go through it with and support each other. Hope to hear from you
  22. Hi Claire, I am thinking about getting banded by Dr Chris, but I have had a slight set back when my Dr has told me I will end up bigger than ever if i get it. Im so upset, i was all set to go. you dont need to hear that when this seems to be your last hope.. I have heard great things about him and when i am getting it done I will definitely be going to him. Just hope i grow a pair soon and just do it
  23. For a pre op bandster this is great motivation. thank you and well done xx
  24. Hi to both of you and thank you for your replies! Its so nice to be able to come on here and talk to people going through the same emotions. I am the same, wondering if i will be able to manage my nutrition and not kill myself by eating too much by mistake or vomiting and rupturing my stomach or something.. i have all these fears in my head. I really do want the weight off, i have a bmi of 33 and I cannot face another diet.. it seems like my only option. That and i am a bit scared of the surgery.. i just dont do pain well at all
  25. Thank you for all your replys, TracyNYC you are so sweet thank you! I didnt consider the operation to be major surgery, as so many of you sailed through it and I can see that from this site. I am sick of the weight and want it gone for good, maybe my doubts are just down to a lack of support from my family.. I really dont want to go through all that procedure and expense and regret it! I dont know what is really holding me back as I am normally such an impulsive person (maybe thats why I am in this position in the first place?!!) but I have to go through everything in my head. I am currently suffering prolapsed disks in my back and they are very bad considering my age, and my weight is a huge factor in this so there is more than just vanity at stake here. If I am getting it done i will be going to Belgium and flying home the day after, have any of you flown directly after the operation and how did you find it? Sorry for all the questions, but you know they do say if you want to know something ask the experts, so i am
