I am at 201 this morning!!!! I am so darn close to onederland! This feels amazing. I just went through my clothes again yesterday and have two bags of clothes to give to a friend who also has had the lap band surgery. She has two that the is giving away as well! Anyone live in the York PA area and has size 14 clothes they want to recycle. That will be my next size!!!! Have a great Monday and the rest of the week. I know I will!

I love the Clothing exchange part of the forum, however, I have a friend who is also going through the lap band journey and she is right behing me. I give all of my clothes to her. If she passes me in this journey, I would love to put them on the exchange. Thank you everyone for your well wishes! This is the best part of the journey. Mary

I find that people will ask me if I can eat this or that too. I have just chalked it up to them just being curious and not trying to be maliciious. I think they want to know because deep down they are interested in the band themselves and just want to to if they would be able to eat it or not if they got the band. My answer is always the same, "I can eat anything that I want to now because I eat such smaller portions!" That usually works.

I had a co-worker come up to me yesterday and ask to take my picture. I just laughed and asked her why in the world she wanted to take a picture. I honestly was so shocked by her answer. She said she wanted to take a picture of me and give it to her doctor to show him what she wants to look like!!!! So freaking amazing! I was floored by her answer but boy did that feel good!

I'm at 205 this morning. We are all so very close!!!!!!

I think everyone is different. I was banded on 3/9/11 and have lost 35 lbs since that date. I was at a stall for almost two weeks but just started losing again. I changed my workout a little and it seems to have kick started the loss again. I have had one fill at 4cc in an 11cc band. I think it also depends on how much you have to lose as well. I have heard that the more you have to lose the faster you lose it in the beginning. I'm not sure if this is true or not so don't hold me to it, LOL. I was 239.9 when I had my surgery (262.9 when I started the process 6 mos. prior). I am now down to 204.9. Almost to onederland!!! Hope this helps. Mary

I am in need of some size 16 and possibly some size 14 dresses and skirts. I have plenty of jeans in this size but not enough work clothes. I live in PA but would be willing to pay for shipping. I should also mention that I am 5'3". Technically some shorts or capris would be nice too. Any help?

I had my first fill on April 7 2011 and after three weeks I still felt no restriction whatsoever and did not lose a single pound after doing very well right after the surgery. I called my doctor just to see how he felt about this and he told me to go ahead and come in and we would discuss it. Well, as it turns out, when he tried to pull the 3cc out of my band that was inserted on April 7, there was nothing there. I asked how that was possible and he said either it never went into the port the first time or my band is leaking! He inserted 4cc this time and actually inserted more to the point that I could feel the restriction too much and then let some out resulting in the 4cc's that are in there now. I know for a fact that it is in there now because I could feel it when I drank the Water. The last time he did the fill I think he was in too much of a hurry because he just told me to drink the water and if I had any problems let the staff know and left the room. I didn't know any better when I didn't feel anything. Im very upset about this whole process. At least this time he stayed with me and worked with inserting and removing as I drank the water. I go back on June 2nd so I am hoping that the 4cc's is still in there and not leaked out! Please say your prayers for me. I just had my surgery on March 9, 2011 and really don't want to have to go through it again for a leaking band! If I still feel like the doctor is in too big of a hurry to actually take his time with me (like he did the first time), I will be finding myself a different doctor. I'm sure my insurance company is paying big money for him not to be bothered. I really liked him prior to the surgery but feel a little different now. Not because of missing the port or it leaking because I can understand that, but just for his non chalant attitude now. Its not fair. He was better this time, so crossing fingers. Sorry to ramble. I just had my four week post surgery appointment and my doctor gave me a 3cc fill. Does this sound right? I keep hearing how everyone gets smaller amounts. My doctor says he likes a more aggressive approach where I will see good results fast. I'm not complaining, just curious. I lost 17 lbs in 4 weeks after the surgery. Hope Im not too tight now. I guess that is what worries me the most.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their replies. I totally trust my doctor as their entire office is fantastic to deal with. I also know that every doctor is different, but didn't every remember seeing any posts about that much for the first fill. Now I see that I am not alone, LOL. So far so good. I am able to keep down all my liquids so far including my protein drink. Thanks again.

My surgery is scheduled for March 16th as well. I have a low carb full clear liquid diet for 48 hours prior to surgery. Mary

Thatgurl Were you by any chance at the Kaiser (Towson MD) class on 10/27/10? I am also in my 4th month and our last class was on sipping and chewing LOL. Mary
