As a young child prior to puberty I was a thin child. Once puberty I began to put on weight at a steady pace. I began dieting in my early teens without much success, and if I was able to lose weight I always regained the weight and then some.  In adulthood the story remained the same but got worse after delivering five children (not all at the same time :) With each pregnancy more weight would stay with me. Last year I delivered my last child, I was diagnosed with hypertension, I now take a pill daily to try and control it.  I knew then that I needed to take a good look at myself and my health, together with my family make the best choice for my future health.  I lost both my parents in my early twenties due to heart conditions and I knew that was not what I wanted for any of my children. I began researching the lap band, that is how I found Dr. Dao. My first appointment went very well, the dr. was very encouraging and I left confident that this was for me. So today I am a week from having my surgery and beginning my new life. I am extremely excited about running, playing and being able to keep up with my two small children.  I am looking forward to setting an example of good health for all my children. My surgery date is Oct. 15, 2010, I am only nervous about the surgery, but this is in God's hands, so I believe it will all work out for HIS glory!! AMEN... I would love to have friends on her, so I welcome anyone who would love to chat, give advice, and always encouragement!!
