I fell for the 1-800-Getthin ads and decided to call them and get my insurance verfied. I set up my first appointment in June 2010. The people at the "weight loss centers" called me everyday and even twice a day before I had my testing done to ask me if I had any questions about the tests and about the procedure. They seemed like they really "cared" about me. Right away I was scheduled for my endoscopy and EKG and ultrasound in LA. Three weeks after I was scheduled for my sleep study. The people who work for this company were extremely attentive and friendly at first. After all of my testing was complete I didn't hear a word from these people AT ALL. I had to constantly call my "consultant" who never answered my calls or call me back. I was getting the run-around from everyone about why my insurance was not sent my test results. For three weeks I called to get an update, in september 2010, to find out if the insurance had approved me for the surgery. Every week my consultant said that no one had even sent the information to the insurance company. I don't know if it was because my insurance wasn't going to pay out enough or the people working for the weight loss centers had dropped the ball. I have now decided to go somewhere else. I am currently trying to get my medical records released to me. Of course I haven't been contacted or given my records. Now I have to take time out to call the medical board of california and file a complaint to get my records. 1-800-GetThin is a joke. I wonder who else has had an experience like mine.
