Hi Heather, I haven’t been banded yet I just finished all of the pre-op testing and info gathering. What I can say is be prepared for a long process it has taken me 4 months just to get to the point where I’m waiting for incurance approval and that could take another 2-3 weeks don’t get discouraged . Good luck!!

Hey guys I have United Health Care Choice Plus 5'7 276lbs BMI 44. I had to have a letter from my doc, 5 years weight history, and all that Good Stuff finally after 4 months got it all in and all of the test done and I'm waiting for approval. Hopefully I'll be banded in lat Feb. Good luck. -

Hi, I haven't been banded yet but the nutritionist advised me that hair loss can be associated with lack of Protein. She advised me that protein needs to be at least 15gram s or more and 5 grams or less Carbs. Atkins Makes a great Protein Drink with exactly that amount. I found it at Wal-Mart for $6.97. Hope this helps Good LUCK!!! Ps. it also has 20% Biotin which is good for the hair!

Got a $103.00 bill from the hospital insurance didn't cover all of the Upper GI and Chest X-Ray what a bummer

I love this man so much, when we started dating I was a size 16, he married me at size 22. He never said a word, not to me any way. LOL

Keep your head up and keep a food journal for the nutritionist maybe it's what you are eating not how much. Nutritionist can be a great help I love the one that I have to see. It wil get better. Good luck

OK the band is only a tool. It will help you control how much you can eat. A help you feel fuller longer. But it cannot think for you and will not help you make the right food choices. The band won’t let you eat 2 or 3 big jars of ice cream at one time but you can still eat ice cream (every though you shouldn't) Exercise is just a part of being healthy and we should all do it anyway. -

Atkins Advantage Cafe Caramel Shake 15 grams of protein 5 grams of carbs... Love this stuff got it from Wal-Mart $6.97 -
I had a $100.00 program fee that had to be paid to the nutritionist but that was it.
