I agree with you that is not the correct way to deal with someone who is clearly asking for help and guidance. However we don’t need to attack the person who made the “I’ve been successful” post either. There are ways of telling people that they may have misunderstood what the OP is saying/asking for without being negative and nasty. There is nothing wrong with saying “Congrats on your success but I think what the OP needs right know is help/guidance and then redirect our attention back to the OP or just not say anything at all. We should direct our focus on the person that needs help otherwise we lose focus and it becomes about us not the OP. How many times have we seen original post get lost in arguments because one person offended the other.

Well Shirley in my grade book you get an "A+" lol. I'm glad to hear that everything is working out. You will see more loss now that you are filled and are not as stressed out. Keep us updated.. Everyone let’s not forget that we all came to this site in the beginning for the same reasons. People on this site can relate to what we are going through in regards to being overweight and needing help. We have outsiders that have condemned us enough on a daily basis no need to do it to each other. Let’s support each other weather we agree or not with something that has been said. A lot of us (especially newbies, banders with complications and new banders) are already down let’s not kick them.

I'm being banded on Monday March 7th. I planned to return to work Thursday March 10th but I'll take more time If I have to. I have a desk job, you on the other hand will have to move around so you may want to take more time.. Good Luck

I don’t always agree with CM’s posts, but I think she hit the nail on the head with this one! The nutritionist and the psychiatrist have been a big help to me so far and I won’t be banded until Monday March 7th. Good Luck

Getting away from the Grammar lessons and back to Shirley….I don't think it was clear in her original post to everyone that her band had burst (Shirley correct me if I'm wrong) and she can't seem to get any help from her surgeon. Oceangirl I’ve been there before where no one has poster to a thread I’ve started so I know how you feel. I won’t be banded until Monday so I can’t say much to help you with your pain; however I hope things get better for you soon. If it’s too bad I don’t see anything wrong with calling your doctor and asking if it’s normal. Good Luck

CM , My concern is that you are becoming the one that is inappropriate, harsh, insulting and blaming. How can you defend someone if you are becoming the very thing you are defending them against? Who is going to defend posters against you? Sorry about your struggle you've had it very hard and I can't imagine what you've gone thru. This may be a crazy question but did it have some sort of warranty? I can’t believe it burst and they are not trying to help you, this is just awful and it’s not like everybody has the money to just hire a lawyer. Sorry I’m venting. I’m praying for you and I hope that find someone to help you. Question how long did you have it before you found it had burst? Are you sure that he only put 2cc’s in and not 5cc’s in your 4cc band. I don't recall saying that you attacked the band, I asked what your purpose was for still posting on the site and then asked if you were attacking the band. Just a thought you may want to read a little closer before getting defensive. Good Luck to you and your experiences/opinions are just as welcomed as everyone elses.

I’m all for hearing the truth….and weather good or bad everyone’s story should be welcome. But telling others that their post is useless or we don’t need the post because they have been successful and its sounds smug is childish IMO. If you can tell everyone the band failed you or you failed the band (whatever the case may be). Then allow other to say they have been a success and they have made it to their goal.

I’m just curious if the band is not working for you than why are you still posting on this site? Is your purpose here to attack the band, encourage others to look for other options, of just vent. Don’t get me wrong I’m not attacking you, I’m just curious.

I asked the same question to my surgeon. I've had two c-sections also and he states that the pain is nowhere near as bad. But he hasn't had a c-section so how would he know lol.... Anyway I get banded Monday March 7th so I'll let you know. Good Luck
