I didn't know we had a new thread! Maybe we could post the link in the March thread for people like me who forget to check?

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
Maurdan replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm debating whether or not to get another fill. I got 2.5 on the first fill, but I'm not sure if I need more. On the one hand, I feel so tight for Breakfast and lunch that I can't imagine anything tighter. However, by dinner it seems I can eat way too much. I've had too many PB episodes, also. I think I need to learn how to eat correctly at this fill before I go adding more. It's all so confusing! -
A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?

Christy, I had my surgery with Dr. Rumbaut and I wouldn't change a thing about it! I already had a fill here in the states and am very happy with that doctor, but I'm seriously thinking about returning to Mexico this summer just to get a follow-up with Team McDreamy. The whole experience was great. As for the pre-op diet, I had to do TEN DAYS. If you have to do that many, let me tell you that if I can get through it without cheating anyone can. It wasn't easy, and I did have a couple of break downs, but I'm so glad I stuck to it (during the holidays no less). I didn't have to deal with the disappointment over not being able to eat as much after surgery because I was happy just to eat/drink anything beyond clear liquids. You can do it, I promise you. -
I will warn you, it's pretty expensive. I love it, though. And I've never been one for tracking my calories. But seeing how much I burn seems to make it easier and inspire me to move more. For example, I did 45 min of cardio today instead of my regular 30! You can get more information at: http://www.bodybugg.com/

I had major troubles with snacking in the evenings. Then, a friend taught me how to knit baby hats with a loom and I've done that to occupy my time and thoughts. It's really worked. And this coming from the girl who hates crafts. But this is so easy anyone could do it. I'm going to donate the hats to the local woman's hospital. I have quite a few already!

I've used mine for a week religiously and lost 7 lbs. I love it so far. It's pricey, though. You can get it here: http://www.bodybugg.com/ -
Because I'm a BIG girl, I'm able to burn more calories just to keep my body alive. On the days I didn't exercise, I burned 3550 calories and ate anywhere from 1200-2000 calories a day. So far, the bugg is definitely worth it to me. I hated spending all that money after spending on surgery of course. But I've always had trouble with my exercise/moving my body and this seems to motivate me. I only worked out 3 times this week, but I found myself walking more at work in order to burn calories. The other downside is everyone constantly asking what's on my arm, but I've gotten used to it. The funniest was when a co-worker thought it had something to do with my heart and was really worried about me! I had to explain what it was so he wouldn't freak out.

I have to be honest, I was eating like crap before. I wasn't motivated to eat well. So, once I got my bodybugg I decided to splurge a little on Saturday, then be really good all week. Of course, I slipped up a couple of times. However, with the bodybugg I log all the calories I eat then upload the data from the armband to see how many calories I burned that day. As long as I had a deficit of at least 1000 calories, I knew I was ok. Many days I had a deficit of up to 2000 calories. Seeing how many calories I burn a day seemed to really help for some reason. It motivated me to walk a bit more, put the piece of chocolate down, etc. I also followed the suggestion in the book You on a Diet to eat the same meal for two meals a day. I eat the same thing for Breakfast and dinner every single day (except Saturdays) and vary my lunch (always a South Beach microwavable, just different variety). I also tried not to have more than one snack a day (a South Beach Meal Replacement bar). And, I got all my Water in. The band helps me with eating slower and less, the bug helps me with moving my body.

I meant to post this here and not in our old thread. Oops. Well, I finally got my act together and with the help of my bodybugg I was able to lose 7 lbs this week. It took me 3 months to realize the weight doesn't just fall off, I have to do my part too. I always knew it of course, but I didn't get motivated until I got my toy. So far, it's totally worth the price. Now I have to decide if I really need my fill next week. I'm thinking I'll just cancel and continue doing what I'm doing. Then, I'll get a fill when I slow down or stop losing. I hope everyone has a great weekend. It's Spring Break for me. Whee!

I got my Protein shakes from GNC. I had to do the pre-op diet for 10 days. I will be honest, it was hell. HOWEVER, it made everything after surgery so much better. I'm so glad I didn't cheat, not even one little bite! -
Well, it arrived today. I'm feeling a bit of buyer's remorse (because of the price tag...more money into weight loss....) but I've also uploaded calories burned three times already. Tomorrow I plan on tracking the calories I eat and see how I do without exercise. Then, I will add in the exercise. I want to see how much of a difference it makes calorie wise. I'm not going to stop exercising, I just want to know how much I truly burn. I'll keep you all updated. I just hope this doesn't go the way of so many things...

I'm going to try and follow the lead of someone on this forum that lost over 100lbs. I ordered the bodybugg and I'm going to aim for a 1000 calorie deficit each day. I'm hoping this will help me get going. My ticker hasn't moved at all! As for the loose at night, count me in. I'm great all day, then I get home and eat like a pig (or want to). Today's the first day I've made myself stick to my planned 3 meals only. However, I still feel like I can eat too much. So, I scheduled a fill in two weeks.
-
Thank you. :girl_hug: I'm 5'8. So, I've decided to buy the bodybugg and I've decided I need another fill. When you can eat a NY style piece of pizza (slowly of course) I think you don't have enough restriction! So, in two weeks I will go for another fill.

I am seriously thinking about getting a BodyBugg to help with the exercise thing. However, it's pretty expensive and I was self-pay with the band so I am trying to rationalize why I'd spend even more money when the band was supposed to do it. Anyway, I had a NSV today. Even though I think I still eat too much, I know I'm eating less than before. Typically, I'd order a 3 plank chicken dinner with extra hushpuppies and a large soda from LJS, but today I just ordered 2 chicken planks and 2 hushpuppies (those did not go down well so they are on my do not eat list). I know it's more than I should be able to eat (which is why I really think I need a fill), but it's A LOT less than I used to eat. And I ate the chicken planks with a knife and fork instead of sucking them down. I was proud of myself.

Boo, I cannot wait to be a sizew 16/18. You go girl! Part of me feels like that will be my goal, part of me wants to get smaller. Right now, I'd settle for anything smaller than my current size (26/28...more on the 28 side). I am seriously thinking about getting a BodyBugg to help with the exercise thing. Possible to PB often, but feel like you have no restriction?
Maurdan posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
<!--StartFragment -->I had my first fill on Feb. 9th. The doctor put in 2.5cc. Lately, I've noticed that I get "stuck" quite often in the afternoon when I eat lunch (I eat oatmeal for breakfast). I've even had to pb a few times. Yet, at dinner I don't seem to have any restriction. For instance, tonight I was able to eat a pretty large salad and too much spaghetti (well-cooked, angel hair with sauce). I don't know if I should get another fill or not. I'm really concerned about the amount I can eat, yet at the same time I get the stuck feeling more often. I need advice please. -

I thought I would miss bread terribly, but I really don't. I just don't like the pain that comes with it. Now if only chocolate and other crap foods left me with that pain!!! And thanks all to have replied. I'm leaning towards another fill, but like I said, I'm going to take the next two weeks to eat slow, eat well, and see if it makes a difference. -
I'm hanging in there! I haven't had the amazing progress some of you have, but it's my own damn fault. Right now, I'm still trying to figure out if I need another fill. I hate PBing as much as I do, but I can still eat way too much. Last night with my spaghetti proved it. I just don't know what to do. Frustrating! My goal is to really work the band the next two weeks and see if it's me or a fill I need to fix. I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. I hope your weekend in Chicago is great!
