Hi My name is Kathy.  I went last year to a meeting for lap band surgery, and because I didn't know that you had to quit smoking in order to have the surgery, I walked out.  I didn't think I could quit smoking, but I have. I did the Chantex way, and now after 30 years I'm smoke free. Well now I have my lets say first meeting on Oct. 12th, ( really my second). I'm so darn excited, I can't wait to get started on this. My friend, had the more advasive surgery, and that was last year, we had went together, for the lap-band, but she was quite abit heavier than I, so she had  the other surgery, I didn't and wow, she's lost over a 100 pounds. Now I know the lap band is slower, but, had I not been a smoker, I would at least  be 50 pounds lighter now. But, that was yesterday, and today, is my turn. I hope that, the process goes fast, which it won't but I can still hope. I love reading all the blogs, it helps answer questions, I didn't even know I wanted to ask. I will keep you posted on my adventure. Kathy
