  2. Happy 27th Birthday missgissel!

  3. 1 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary missgissel!

  4. I'm scheduled for Mid/late December like the week of Christmas. I can't wait either. I started my diet on Monday and then after Thanksgiving I will be on my pre-op diet. Is anyone feeling like "last supper" feeling when it comes to certain foods? I can't shake it as things become more real. To chocolatecity, I understand where you are coming from only 4 people in my life , but you do need the support of your husband if not anyone else. Plus, my surgeon office requires 2 family pledged support, does anyone else?

    Anyone out there?!!?

Me too!! No, not **DATE** yet but everything is moving fast. I should have the date by November. Because my surgeon office hasn't done their December schedule yet. I saw them Thursday everythig is on track for Mid/late December surgery. I haven't told anyone yet, only 4 people , (my sister, my brother, my best friend & close male friend). I'm not telling anyone until after I'm banded. How does everyone feel about telling people? I feel so ashamed of it. I don't know why.
  6. I'm starting the process right now, but its going fast. I went to the first seminar on 9/27 , I'm required to do a 3 month diet but I will be banded Mid to late December. So that's just 3 months! but it does depend on your insurance and what they require.
  7. Thank you for all your information it helps!!I'm starting my process, I had my first meet with the nutritionist this pass Thursday. Since I'm required by my insurance to do a 3 month diet, I was advice to cut the sugars and keep the carbs low. That's okay with me. My surgeon requires 6 week high protein diet, low carbs, like two 2 shakes a day low cal less then 1000. I kinda wish he was like everyone else with the 3 day to 2 week requirement. Its okay the process is going fast, and hopefully I will be banded the end of December. I'm happy its happening!

    Uugghh!!!

I agree with everyone, attend seminar, and speak to one the surgeon following, my surgeon told me if my PCP wasn't willing to write my letter that they would assist with helping me change doctors. If you don't speak or ask you will never know. My insurance is requiring that I go on 3 month diet, but make the most of it. Just think of it has a jump start. We are here for you either way, stay strong!

    Hi

Hi Everyone! So I finally made the decision, I have been researching for the better part of 2 years now. I wish I COULD have made my decision earlier, but either way I'm ready and happy. I have decided not to tell my co-workers due the fact they were negative about a group of ladies that did it last year. HOWEVER, I do have the full support of my family and few close friends. I have slow & long journey ahead of me, I have Aetna insurance, and I’m required to do a 3 month nutritionist diet, which starts Thursday. I can't wait! I went to my first seminar on 9/27/2010 and it’s officially the new beginning of my life. I would like to do know if anyone was required to do the 3 months and how long did you have to wait until you were able to do your surgery? I'm anxious to say the less! Thanks!
