  1. OK, so I was banded Oct. 1, and after getting over the initial surgery ouchies, I am feeling pretty darn good! I am sticking to my after surgery diet and I've lost 10lbs(4 I gained during surgery and 6 of my own) and although I had hoped to be one of the speed demon losers...I am happy. So my revelations. I went to Sam' club with my hubbie and as I walked down the aisles I had his overwhelming feeling that I needed to eat and buy food, I thought I was going to hyperventilate seriously. I thought "OMG, how can I be hungry, it's too soon!" So I went to the bathroom, seperating myself and I realized, I wasn't hungry at all. I waited, and truly was grateful to myself for taking the time to think about it and listen to my body...it wasn't hungry, my mind was. Revelation #1, huge for me. The next came Saturday night when my belly was grumbling, growling, making noise my kids heard across the room. I would've normally jumped up and got a snack, but again I just listened and asked myself if I was truly hungry...I wasn't. I grabbed a glass of water and sat sipping in my newfound glory...even if no one else knew. Revelation #2. Great feeling, just thought I'd share.
  2. OK, I was banded on the 10-01-10 and have felt pretty great overall....except for one thing. The past 3 days I have had a terrible stitch in my left side! Not near any incision site, but in my ribs, like I've been running....only I havent been running. And sometimes there's 2, one about the middle of my ribs and the other lower. I can feel it if I breathe deep and when I'm walking around. Just wondering if anyone else has had this and has any suggestions?:w00t:
  3. That's a great comparison! I haven't started even considering that someone else is losing more than me because trust me, I am just glad I'm finally losing!! But I hope that others who do compare, read your post and get it. Thanks and good luck, you're doing great so far!

  5. Holy cow! That's highway robbery!! I was self pay as BC/BS would cover only my shrink fee, I paid $12,500 total. Being reasonable that the charge is more perhaps in more metropolitan type areas, I can see up to $20,000 but anything more is just ridiculous!! I hope you get everything straightened out! Good luck!

    My little revelations :)

Thanks for the responses. Just like everything else in life, I'm taking this one day at a time and hoping to learn more about myself along the way! I too have been grocery shopping and find myself make better choices for my family now. It's amazing what you don't buy when you are not hungry!! Good luck to you both also, I look forward to reading more!

  8. Hi everyone! I was banded on 10-01-10. I have felt pretty good, other than the normal pain that goes along with surgery. No nausea, vomitting, indigestion...thank goodness. Ok, so for the TMI part, no BM as of yet...normal? I got on the scale(couldn't help it) and was up 3 lbs from day of surgery..normal? Water, shakes and broth all go down fine, although I'm pretty conservative. Thought about walking on treadmill today but not sure I can get my tennis shoes on, bending is a bear! Just curious how everyone else did at this stage. Thanks
  9. Thanks you guys...glad it's not just me! Always awkward to ask questions like that but I guess since we are all pretty much in the same boat, somebody will ask it sooner or later! I've only had protein shakes, broth, sf jello and water so maybe you're right...not much to come out! Keep me posted on your progress!
  10. Hi there! I was banded 10-01 and I had gas pain in the beginning and it ended but then tonite...here it is again. My left shoulder and down the back of my ribcage. Ouch! I think I may have overdone it today and maybe thats why or maybe it just takes awhile for it to totally work out. OK, off the gas thing...have either of you had a BM yet? I know it's a creepy question but I'm curious...I haven't. I am not in pain but just wondering how long is too long? Thanks for being here!
  11. Thank you for your responses. It's nice to have feedback from others who have been where I am at. Your kindness is appreciated!
