Its easy to get crabby when you havent figured this thing out yet. Most of these people that comment that way have already figured it out and have lost their weight... They forget we are beginners! And I have wanted to kill someone lately... We will get through it though!

I was super tiny for years from not eating any carbs! Why not go on a low carb diet vs getting the band if that's all you need to do? That some what irratates me. I need portion control! I cant stand the low carb diet anymore after 5 years of having NONE... An egg makes me want to vomit just looking at it! My sister eats whatever she wants on the band and has lost 60lbs so its while its preferred, its not the only way! Just wanted to throw that out there! but thanks for all the tips on what you eat... That gave me some good ideas!

Ok I will be two weeks post-op on Thrusday but I had to start my mushies on Sunday. I was either gonna die or kill someone from being so cranky!!!! When did you start mushies? My doctor wanted me to be on liquids only for two weeks and then mushy food for another two! I am about to die from hunger. I know I dont get enough Protein either... BTW I was bad today too:rolleyes:... I had 3 chicken nuggets and some fries. All of which I chewed to death and they went down fine. Other than that I have only have soft mushy foods! I want to eat. What are good mushy foods?

Meee toooo BabyK. I am suppose to be on liquids the first 2 weeks and then mushies for two weeks. I was either gonna die or kill someone. I was so cranky. So I put myself on mushies... But isnt everything mushy when you chew it to death? So I was bad today. I had chili for lunch whitch is pretty soupy but for dinner I had 3 chicken nuggets and some french fries... I mean i chewed them to hell and I had no problem with them going down at all!!!! I feel bad but I also feel that all they want us to eat is low carb. I was on a low carb diet for 5 years and stayed at 123. But after I got married and kids the weight all came back. I dont have time for that. But what I am saying is, if I wanted to be on low carb I could have went on a low carb diet and now paid out of pocket! I need portion control which I feel I have!!! So I have been eating mashed potatoes, Soups, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, cottage cheese. I really want a cheese burger or fajitas!!!!

I am starting to starve!!! I had a few handfuls of MM's today...OOOPS. I chewed them to nothing though. I dont go for my first fill until 10/22. It took my sister 4 fills and almost 9.5cc to have restriction. I think everyone is just different! Hang in there!

But you dont have a fill yet. I wish I could eat that. I am still on liquids. My sister has had 4 fills and has always been able to eat whatever she has wanted. However, she has lost 50lbs. The band has completely changed her portion control though. If I wanted to go on a low carb diet I could have done that without paying thousands out of my pocket!!! I hope I am that lucky. Some people lose more in a year than her but she is happy the way she is doing it. Slowly losing weight and still able to enjoy her food!

Question for you longer term bandsters. I was talking to my patient advocate and she mentioned in passing that she doesnt even use her band anymore, that is is just sitting in there. What does that mean? Someone walked in and I forgot to ask later. Does that mean she just learned to eat and doesnt need it anymore???? Can you actually ever get to that point??? I would love to. Just wondering!

Well I am going to have ask next time I see her. Which wont be for a couple of weeks... But I thought it was interesting so I thought I would ask here!

New to this... Will only be banded a week tomorrow. I took my Prevacid "Capsule" at 9:30. It got stuck. Its now 11 and I want to go to sleep. its still stuck, i have tried Water, hot cocoa, and walking. Nothing. I am just worried about the acid it can cause if I lay down and it doesnt pass. What should I do. Its only annoyingly stuck. I can get liquid around it but can still feel it in there.!!!!

Thanks everyone. I talked to the patient advocate today. She said break a capsule apart and put it in applesauce etc. Which I know one had suggested!!! That's what I will be doing for now on. Appreciate the feedback!

I'm not so happy with the company I went through either. I dont have a lot of issues and never called cause I figured what I was feeling/having was normal. But when I did call "once" they never return my calls. I only called back because I didnt get a return call the first time. Still no call! I have Fluid in my band and I have some questions about discomfort and wanted to see if that could be the reason. no call. Nothing...... :thumbup:

hehehe... My first BM was Sunday, then again on Monday and Tuesday!!! Coffee!!! it works everytime for me! That's all I can think it could be??? I was actually pretty shocked that it happen that quickly and everyday! Not creepy...just a real question! lol

Should I try to drink something or just let it dissolve on its on. Its my Prevacid, ironic how it is the pill that is suppose to help my stuck indigestion feeling!:thumbup:

it's a capsule. Cant crush... What do you do for those types? Is there a trick I dont know about? It's annoying!

My husband isnt supportive of the band at all!!! He is okay that I have it but when I want to gripe about it or have an ache or pain, he is not the one to go to. When I met him I weighed 120! Over our 8 year relationship we have two awesome children and both have gained lots of weight! Me up to 211! Him, I dont know and I dont care. But the other day he told me he loved me just the way I was, I was his best friend and he didnt care what I looked like. I try to explain the heath reasons etc... he doesnt care, he just always says "I told you not to do it, I love you how ever you are" makes me feel good. But I want him to be on board with this!

It was the baby comment... Really, you support the baby comment? It is totally different. I totally wish to hear from been there done that bandsters. But if someone wants to whine and moan let them. It's for people to tell them hey I have been there too without all of the "OMG DID YOU do your research" or "I would like to see have a baby" I hate my baby! !!!! comments! that isnt SUPPORT lelllo... That was my point... Sorry you couldnt see that!

YES mine started yesterday after being banded 9/30, It comes and goes and have found that gas-x and the heating pad helps. I will take it all day long over Nausea, indigestion, and the tight feeling. That has gotten better, although I have a pill stuck at this very moment! Good Luck!

hahaha you are ridiculous! SOOOOO NOT THE SAME THING...I hate my baby...yeah ok! I have two babies and would go through labor with both before I did this again!!!!! While I feel ok now it was hell and I dont mind telling any potential bandster how bad it was and if I want to bitch about I WILL and so can she!.... If you dont want to support people....go lose weight on your own... We dont care about your opinions anyway! This forum is for support.... people should feel welcome to come here and ask questions, vent , do what the want.... !!! It is a "forum" for all that afterall!

Some doctors do it and some dont. My sister's didnt either. I dont know why?
