  1. Surgery Date: 9/30 and so far I have been in He??!!! The first day I started off with nausea and vomiting and the days after just nauseous and horrible indigestion. I think the indigestion is hindering me in getting the adequate liquid and Protein I need. Although I feel hungry (i think), I feel like everything I drink gets stuck and I have a huge lump in my chest and I am scared to make it worse. However I have not vomited since day 1... So today: Woke up actually feeling normal and was sooo happy so I had a Tall Skinny vanilla Latte from Starbucks. Then a 4oz cup of Applesauce as it says I can have it the first two weeks in the afternoon: I tried more applesauce and protein Water and ever since then I have had the bad stuck feeling again. This was at 4 o clock! That's all I have had today!!!! I am starting to feel week, tired, depressed, and I want to cry! Yesterday wasnt much better. I know I am not getting the protein I need as I can barely stomach the shakes without getting nausea and indigestion! and I just so scared of making it worse!!! so I would rather not have anything! I do have Fluid in my band... He didn't tell me how much... Should I call my doctor? Or has others experienced this and will it just go away in a few days... So ready to feel normal again... Otherwise I want it out! At this point, I AM OVER IT!
  2. RSL, I feel the exact same way! exactly! Yesterday all good until about 4pm. then had the horrible tightness, nausea, stuck feeling. I could barely go to sleep last night and then it gave me anxiety! I called the doctor today and they said I might need to have some Fluid removed. But one poster yesterday told me if you are dehydrated it gets tighter. So i have managed to get down a tall latte and about 10oz of Water. About to try a shake.. Maybe if I stay hydrated it will be better. If not, I am having fluid removed tomorrow!
  3. Me too! I called the doc today and they are going to take some Fluid out... I am so hoping it helps!!!! everyone says the first 2 weeks are hell. I am hoping I dont regret it after that. Especially self pay!!!! :tongue2: Did I read yesterday you went to the doc and they wouldnt take any fluid out? Maybe you should demand it! Feel free to message me privately anytime. I think we are in the same boat. I want cry and not leave my couch!
  4. Thanks to everyone that replied! I called the doctor this morning and they said if it feels that tight all the time to come in and get some Fluid drained. I dont think I cant get out of the door fast enough! They said it really important to get my Protein down so come in. I will update you after some fluid has been taken out. I have tried to just sip on Water all day today. HOWEVER today for the first day really the shoulder pain has started. UGH...why so late and all the sudden. Also my belly looks pregnant. How long does it take to go down??? Sorry can I gripe anymore? xoxo BlessedMama!

  6. Thanks L12, You sound like you know what you are talking about. Just started sipping Water and it feels so tight! I will keep trying! I think you are right on the dehydration...I will keep sipping. I hope I am like you in a year!
  7. Thanks Ready, I'm sorry to hear about anyone feeling like I am. However, its good to know I am not alone. Let me know what your doctor says. I will let you know too, he is getting a call in the morning! I feel I am getting dehydrated as well. I am just at a loss for words. I never expected it to be this difficult! My sister seemed to get through it fine! I want to say WE CAN DO THIS... but can we?

    I'm so hungry

I cant tell if I am hungry or not either! I sit here watching my family eat a normal dinner and I am so jealous yet I have this horrible indigestion feeling in my chest and wish I could have the burp of my life. My stomach is grawling too. But its it in my head or am I hungry. I am worried the indigestion will get worse if I have anything! So far I hate this. I know it hasnt even been a week yet but UGH! Why cant time fly like it does with everything else in life????
  9. OMG I have the exact same thing! I didnt call my doctor today because I actually felt ok for once this morning. I have had a tightness I WANT TO BURP SOOOOO BAD feeling in my chest since I got banded on 9/30! But today I woke up and actually felt somewhat normal! So I have my applesauce. "its on the list" and now I have the dreaded BURP feeling again. I hate it! I cant live with it forever, so someone please tell me it gets better. That has been 3 hours ago and no relief. I had the nausea and dry-heaving on the day of surgery! It was horrible so I know how you feel. I too have Fluid in my band. Some doctors do it and some dont. I think I am going to call tomorrow! I sooo hope you feel better! I do... This is NO FUN!
  10. I have felt a tightness in my chest since I had the surgery. Like I need to burp really bad. Sorry cant describe it any better. Please let us know what your surgeon says if call them. thanks Hope you feel better!
  11. Hey All, I am new here. I am 4 days post surgery. My biggest complaint is the nausea and indigestion!!!!! The pain is tolerable and I dont have the shoulder pain thank goodness. That being said, the indigestion and nausea is horrible. When I got out of surgery on Thursday I had major nausea and then started vomiting. Luckily the vomiting only lasted that day. However, the nausea and indigestion has been pretty consistant. I know they say the nausea is normal, but what about the feeling of just something being stuck ALL THE TIME????? Like you want to have the biggest burp of your life!!! Has anyone else had this and will it go away?? I had my hernia fixed and they said all the reflux and indigestion would go away.. NOT. I am hoping its just from being swollen and my doctor puts a little bit of Fluid in the band so that you arent dying of hunger the first month before a fill. Has anyone else had this horrible feeling of something being stuck all the time even though you are only on liquids??? Right now I am wishing I would have never done this. I need some help and advice :smile2:... Thank you so much!
  12. We will be here when you are ready too!!!
  13. Yes we must! Cause so far I HATE IT! I feel a little better tonight. I hope it continues! my email is tdavis9970@yahoo.com

    Nausea and Indigestion!

Jan, So sorry. Ok I had to cut out my shakes. UGH hate them. However, I found a water that has 40grams of protein! it is by Natures Best, Isopure 40g protein Zero Carb. I got it in Grape Frost at the Nutrition Store. It's much better than the shakes/bullets. Now, it leaves you with a bit of cotton mouth. Only downside I have found. Dont look at it either! It has little protein floaties I guess LOL. I drink it in in a sports bottle!
  15. NJSizzla , We chose to have the lap band so we can gripe about it if we want to. But I am sorry you feel the way you do. This was a choice and I am sure in the end I and others will be very happy. However, you WILL NOT even want to consider riding on rides with your kids with this pain/nausea/gas we are experiencing!. Mine isnt so much the pain, but I have been nauseous since I woke up on Thrusday. I tell you, I would rather be fat than live my life nauseated. Also, after surgery you feel a bit sorry for your self and you look to others that have been through it to ease your pain. I think that is all we are doing here. Looking for strength to get through what I know we will all be very happy with. You will need it too so dont knock us for venting. It helps with all parts of our healing! forgive misspellings..I need to download the spellchecker:wink2:

    Nausea and Indigestion!

Thanks to you both for replying! I feel like I have something constantly stuck. Its tight in my chest. I cant stand it. It makes me nauseated all time. I have lived on Gaviscon and Zofran since surgery. It relieves it some but not enough. My sister has the band as been very happy. However, she said the first week is horrible. We can get through this yall.:smile2: Please post or reply any helpful tips you find or try! Nausea/Indigestion- Gaviscon/Zofran Shoulder Pain - Heating Pad These have worked pretty well for me so far!
  17. Herravan, You replied to my Nauesa and Indigestion post earlier today. Thanks for that... We can cry together:crying:!!!!!!!!! I am totally hoping that in a few days I can look back and be happy that I got this thing! I too have started to regret my decision! Why WHY WHY did I do this to myself?! I feel sick all the time. The pain is nothing compared to how ill I feel. If I drink fluids I feel like it gets stuck. I mean is that suppose to happen yet? Or is it just swollen? I have lost 7.5lbs...Only upside to this. I would rather be fat than feel like poo all the time though. I am so glad to see that others have gone through the same thing we are going through and have come out of it happy!. The words of engourgament mean everything to me right now. I feel like I want to put a plunger down my throat!!! I have the most horrible stuck/indigestion feeling ever... ALL THE TIME! For the shoulder pain I have found the heating pad does help. I dont get it very often, but have a little bit today so that seems to soothe it a bit! Feel free to email anytime. We can go through this together if you want. We did get it on the same day after all. :smile2:
