Ladies, what do you consider your ideal dress size ?
armywife79 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am now more than a year out from surgery. I'm 5'9 and I now wear a size 10/12. I am at my Dr. Prescribe goal weight. I could get thinner but, honestly, I feel beautiful and very confident at this size. Im near 40 and I think this is the most attractive I have ever been in my life. When a clerk at any store asks me my size, I hold my head high when I say what size I wear! -

So embarrassing but...I gotta ask anyway! Is anyone else suffering with horrible gas? Can this be treated?
armywife79 replied to armywife79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I know is, now that my husband is off active duty with the Army and we now sleep together every night, this is all I can think of! I'm so worried about him possibly being awake and hearing me all night long doing that! Why is life so embarrassing? ?? -

armywife79 replied to armywife79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I take that like crazy but, it's more how terrible the smell is! I know it's super gross and not very lady like to say all this but, it's really a source of anxiety for me all the time. Is there a way to fix how bad it is? -

I have to say, this has been a horrible and gross side effect. I'm afraid to sleep next to my husband because I know I smell like a flatchulent pig all night! Please say this can be treated ! This is just gross and uncomfortable. -

Ladies only! after Bowel obstruction surgery
armywife79 replied to RGraham87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, but I did have a very weird smell after the catheter for a while. I had the obstruction corrected in an emergency surgery about 3 months post op. You may definitely want to ask your GYN. It's probably just a small infection you need an antibiotic for. Even non serious vaginal infections can smell like your rotting or something! Lol but, it's easily taken care of, just don't let it linger. Good luck! -
I would have said the same as Mystiq but, if he is acting like a total ASS it wouldn't really inspire me to hand out the enthusiastic mouth hugs or happy handies either! He really needs to calm down and get that this is only pushing you away. However in the case of differences in drive between couples, this kind of behavior if often displayed by the party wanting more sex and only makes the gap wider between what they have and what they want in the long run. If it continues, you really might have to talk to someone as a couple to negotiate this.

Hi, I'm SO sorry to hear about what is going on with you. This discrimination in the medical ?insurance community should be illegal by now but it isn't yet. I had the very same thing happen to me after my bad removal. They took out my defective band and then denied me twice! PLEASE contact Lindstrom Obesity Advocates in CA. The owner is a WLS patient himself and an active obesity lobbyist actively in congress trying to overturn laws that allow these insurance denials! He also goes all over the country to TEACH doctors and staff how to handle these bullies! The fought TRI CARE HUMANA and WON! for me! on a last appeal! I am now only 25lbs away from weight and really owe it all to them. They will work on what ever budget you have to go on and its not really that much to get it all done. Kelly is who you'll deal with and she will put at ease. Please call them they will help make sure you have the best shot possible! -
I know loosing someone so wonderful to something so needless can really weigh heavy on your heart but, I think you and your sister breaking the cycle of obesity not only for you but for the next generation of your family will leave a legacy your dad will be very proud of. It's as such a tragedy that his path was in life had to be so short but , he will live on in both of his beautiful smart daughters who are making better choices in honor of him. In my family, my sister and I were the first two to to stop the cycle of abuse. We grew up with it but chose totally different paths,we both really knew we wanted another life for eachother . We both have careers, good marriages, and happy well adjusted loved kids from loving homes who will grow up and be even better parents than us and so on. This is how the history of families change and your on the way to changing yours too. It's a huge deal and you should be so proud of you both.

Anytime, please keep in touch as your date gets closer ok? Big hugs to you and your sister and I will say a prayer for your dad, he sounds like he was a wonderful man.

Don't waste a moment of your life not living anymore. I know all of us here probably share that as a regret. All the days we wasted saying, someday when I loose this weight I will.....honor your dad by grabbing life with both hands and really living! I have done so many things I had put off for so long this year after my surgery. In truth, I really began getting out there after only loosing a little weight but, it was a promise to me that I was doing this! Not just the surgery, not just weight loss but pushing my limits. I got in a bathing suit, went to water parks, went tubing, went to the beach in my bathing suit (no cover up) and wore a sleeveless shirt! Also, I I make myself look in the full length mirror now, and I don't mind what I see! You girls can't imagine how life will be seven months from today. How different you will move in the world and the world will move around you. The beginning is tough but, I know you girls will stay strong together for eachother and for your dad. Please feel free to message me any time, I would love to stay in touch and see how your both doing. I know your dad would be very proud.

Pre-Op Questions
armywife79 replied to Kelsey Marie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I only learned that after a few surgeries but, once your iv is in and the doctor comes to see you before surgery, they can give you a sweet hit of delaudid as soon as anesthesia is done talking to you in holding. It really makes you totally fine with whatever comes next! Also, always ask for a hit of pain meds the minute you wake up! You won't feel pain right away sometimes after waking up but, this is a big surgery so, best to keep any pain at bay. You should have a morphine pump pretty soon after. Don't be afraid to use it! Keep yourself pain free. Also, ask your nurse for the lemon mouth swabs pretty regularly after surgery to help with the dry mouth until you get cleared for liquids the day after with the swallow test. Don't be scared to drink, it doesn't hurt and it really helps you get better if you hydrate. I wish you lots of luck, this is the hard part but, five months out, it feels like second nature! -
Pre-Op Questions
armywife79 replied to Kelsey Marie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys! When I went for this, I asked what he felt I could be at risk for post surgery, how this would effect both my medications and the way pain meds work. I asked that they note in my surgical plan that I have high anxiety and wanted a sedative pre surgery, I asked about recovery time and going back to work. I also checked to be sure I had a good number for the nutritionist and his nurse and also the after hours on call number. Hope that helps!
