My name is Tara; I have been considering lap-band for about 2 years. However my weigh has been a battle for about 8 years. I am 5’3 221lbs. Me and my husband started trying to conceive in September of 2007, when I first saw a doctor about it was September of 2009 because we have Tricare they require you to have at least 2 years of trying before you seek help. When I went into the dr’s my PCM state: “you have nothing wrong your just too fat loose 100lbs and come back to me” I was about 230 when I saw the doctor I was so hurt emotionally after that appointment I never went back. When we moved here to El Paso I went in to my new PCM with hopes of getting answers about everything weight, babies, health concerns the whole 9 yards. My PCM first stated well your weight isn’t why you’re not getting pregnant its your hormones here’s the OBGYN make an appointment with her and we will go from there. Knowing that I have PCOS and that is mostly a weight issue I have a strong feeling that the fertility doctor will relate everything back to my weight. I just finished all my testing see her next week so we will see!
