Hey yall...It's my 2nd day out and I'm feeling yucky. I'm so sore, it feels like I've been hit by a truck. I'm trying to walk around to relieve some of this gas rumbling around in my stomach. I have no appetite, I had a few sips of chicken broth and some water. It's almost as though I'm afraid to eat. I had to sleep in the recliner last night, I just couldn't get comfortable in bed. Did any of you have to take a laxitive afterwards? I'm asking because I haven't went since the day before my surgery and I'm starting to get worried.

Hey yall. I 'm back . I was banded yesterday, I checked into the hospital at 6am and sugery was around 9am. I was doped up on morphine and when I finally woke up around 3 o'clock that afternoon. I didn't feel that bad until I attempted to get out of bed, :omg: ouch, ouch, ouch. I feel like I was kicked in the stomach by a horse, but I walked around the hall a few times last night. I have no gas pains yet, just really sore. I spent the night and did the barium swollow this morning, after that went well I was given lunch of chicken broth, jello, popsickle and tea. I ate a few spoonfuls broth and jello and was full after that. I got home about 3 o'clock today and took a nap. I have vicoden, but I took the liquid tylenol, I'll save the vicoden for tonight if I need it. Overall I can say that it wasn't as bad as I expected. I'm just really sore, especially where the port is. Well, I am officially a bandster and cannot wait to start my journey. I'm off for a walk and then a nap. I'll talk to you guys later.

Congrats marcy, I'm so happy for you that all went well. I hope my experience goes as well.

I know exactly how you feel Wrangler, my fiance ate steak & eggs for dinner:mad:. I just went into my room and shut the door because I was dying to have just a small piece of that steak.

Hey all.... well tomorrow's the big day, I'm so excited. I had a manicure and pedicure today, bought my Vitamins ,liquid tylenol, slip in sneakers and some egg drop Soup mix. Among other things I finally broke down, called and told my mother I was having the surgery. She said "well ,if that's your choice" and politely yelled across the room and told my father.... I'm like "whatever ma":tired, but after talking for a while she finally saw my point of view, I think. Thank you all for the compliments on my waaaay oversized photo, I will be taking some before photos tonight,(not in the mirror:rolleyes:) I will take them once a month from here on out just to see for myself how I'm looking. I check into the hospital at 6am and I have to stay overnight, so I won't be back until Thursday. I'm so nervous, I hope everything goes well, I have a pretty high tolerence for pain, so I hope I can deal with it. Thank you all for the well wishes and Good Luck to all being banded with me.

My fiance, his mother and 2 friends know. I havn't even told my own mother. I mentioned it to her a few times and she basically told me I shouldn't do it, that I didn't need it. I feel kinda bad because other than that, my mother and I are rather close. I may break down and tell her tomorrow, seeing that my surgery is wednesday.

Hello all, just catching up on posts. I'm getting ready for Wednesday. I've shopped for everything, the only thing I forgot was chewable vitamins, I'll pick some up tomorrow. I've been a busy bee all weekend, doing laundry, cleaning house, getting my daughter & stepdaughters hair braided. I am getting a bit nervous, but you guys will make it all better . One question, to those banded already, when you came home did you sleep in bed? or a recliner? I need to know if I have to tell my fiance to bring the recliner down into the family room. Chimboree, I hope you get rid of that nasty infection soon. I know how a pain it is:think

Ok guys, I have 4 days. I have waited so long for this and now it's finally almost here. I'm so excited I can hardly sit still...whoo-hooo:whoo::whoo:

Welcome Kristen07.. what has kept me sane during this time, I keep full by drinking to stay full, everytime I feel the urge to stuff my face I grab a bottle of water, crystal light, ice tea, slim fast optima or something. The first couple days are hard, but it gets easier everyday. My family had fried chicken today and I had a yogurt and it didn't even bother me.
