Surgery is scheduled for in the morning. I have to be there at 7:30 and actually I am the only one on the books for banding so they said I should be back pretty quick. Umm I am a little nervous. Ok Ok alot nervous.. I would have been fine if they hadnt told me my hemaglobin was low. She said that was nothing to worry about unless I have excess bleeding.. Then a blood transfusion is required..Well.....The dr said it was fine to go ahead with the surgery. You know we sure do put alot of faith in these drs. I appreciate all prayers and I will update you asap.. Good luck with you all that started the liquid diet. The first couple days are the worst.. You CAN do IT!!

Thanks for posting!! I needed to read this because I had already determined I was going to try some "real" food as soon as possible. I need to just stay on track and do what the dr. says. I go today to get the time of my surgery tomorrow and I will follow dr. orders. Thanks again. I want to loose as much as possinble while I can. Congrats on your weight loss.

Thanks Alot!! Best of luck to you as well. I drank the EAS Carb Controll Shakes from Wal-Mart. Mixed them with some crushed ice, a little bit of milk and plain yogurt in the blender and they were pretty good. Now its no mac n cheese but after all mac n cheese is what got me here.. They are low in carbs and sugar. Plus when you add the milk and plain yogurt that gives you a little more protein. Hope this helps.. Keep us posted on how your doing!!

Glad to hear you are doing good!!! I have 2 more days!! Excited to begin the journey.. My mother in law has offered to keep my girls for a few days so I will be able to take it easy when I come home!! Keep up the good work

Ok, so I knew there was a reason I had decided not to tell anyone about my surgery. Well....Then I decided to tell some people at church and my brother and his family.. Well here come the stories. Was just told today.."yup they are burying someone today and she died from Lap Band" set up infection. OMG!! Seriously, I hate this word but I just want to say SHUT UP... "Oh I hope your not having it at that one hospital, I know a guy and he died on the table", "well I know so and so and she had it done and she is as big as she ever was"... So I am feeling a bit nervous and aggervated all togather. Has anyone else heard anything like this?? I dont think they are making it up but what is the deal... I have about talked myself out of having the procedure all togather. I have had complete peace about it this whole time but now I am just torn.. Uggg... I just wish people would hush...

I have decided not to pay attention to the stories. You have some haters and you have some that are seriously concerned. I too have told the ones I care about that its either this or die from other complications. Plus I am a firm believer that if it is my time to go I will go. You cant cheat death. God has my days numbered here on earth and if I die on the table then thats what He had in store for me. 4 more days for me. I will be glad to be on the other side of this writing and telling everyone they have nothing to worry about. Thanks again for all the encouraging words.

Hang in there girl!! I am down to the last 4 days of my 16 day liquid diet.. The first couple days were really hard. Now that I am down to the last week its really not that bad. I am to be banded this Fri. the 15th.. You can do it!! Really try to get your mind off of food. I know the first couple days I thought about food all the time. I just try to keep busy. I too have to cook for my family and that was rough.. Good thing is I am down 12 pounds.. YaY!!

Just curious.... The vitamins from Bariatric Andvantage, are they chewable??

Ive got 6 more days of this pre op. Then its not like I come home eating steak.. Mmm steak.... ONLY kidding!! I just keep telling myself it is a part of it and I am willing to do it. Besides Ive lost 12 pounds in a week. That makes it a little more tolerable. LOL "Sandworm" how did your surgery go? I would love to hear about it.

You all are right!! I am ready to do this more than ever!! There always has to be a bad apple in the bunch right.. That day I just happened to get the whole bunch that was bad. But I am not going to focus on them because despite the negative I do have a lot of people that are for me and cheering me on.. PLUS my new friends on here. We are in this togather!!! Much success to all of you. Keep your eye on the prize...Skinny jeans!!! Ha Ha:lol:.. Thats so funny to even think about now...BUT we will get there!!!!

Thanks so much to all of you that posted. You are all right!! I tend to agree with all of you all. Maybe just feeling a little overwhelmed that all those stories came at me in one day. I am ready to start this new life of mine. There is a skinny girl in me and she wants out!!! I am so tired of the way I feel now and ready to start a active lighter life with my daughters. Which by the way both of them were delivered via c-section. I never heard the risk with that surgery but in my book was a much more complicated surgery.. Anyway thanks again.. A week from today is the big day!! I am ready!!

No pre op diet?? Wow.. Not even a day or two of fasting?? I dont have to loose weight either for the surgery. Its to reduce the size of my liver. Actually start my liver cleanse in the morning. Been on liquids for a week now remain on liquids plus drink a liver cleanse formula.. I would personally go ahead and buy it up.

Ok, I am stressing my self out here. I started my liquid pre op diet on Friday Oct 1. Did great the first 3-4 days. Company came and thats when it got hard. I have licked every spoon passing my way and its driving me crazy. I actually havent gave in and ate anything but a few cucumbers and a grape tomotoe. I am afraid I have just blew it. BUT I read all the other pre op diets and think "well maybe I havent done so bad" because some Dr's are allowing people to eat salads..(just not mine:frown::thumbup:) Sooo I am just wondering how everyone else is doing and maybe how you did if you are on the other side of this. I keep telling my self I still have 8 more days until surgery so I have time to really not cheat anymore..What do you all think. I understand the purpose in cleansing the liver but what are your dr's saying about the long period of time with no food. Whats the purpose.. Uggg...

I am to banded the 15th as well!! YAY!!! Did your dr. not advise you on when to get this stuff. Are you talking about for your pre op diet or post op. My dr sent me home with my shakes and vitamins the day I left his office. I have been on a liquid diet since the Oct. 1. Just curious what you were meaning. Pre op or Post op. The dr gave me protein shakes from Arbonne. They are actually not that bad. LETS DO THIS...:thumbup:

Thanks so much for the reply's. I have dont great today and hopefully as the day goes out. I am doing 2 shakes and I am allowed to add somethings to them so it makes them thick when put in the blender. I am determined to follow it to a tee because if I start now looking for loop holes then I will do it afterwards. I am going to successed with this. I am doing this for me but if for no other reason to proove all those negative people wrong...Ugg... Really I just wish people would keep their negative comments to themselves.. Anyway thanks alot you all.

We are getting banded on the same day. Do you have a time yet for your procedure?? I do not. I wont actually find out until the day before. How are things coming on the pre op diet. I am a little nervous myself but at the same time know without a doubt I am ready to start this journey of my life. Let me know how your doing on the pre op.

Ok so I am on my 5th day of my 15 day pre op. Thus far it hasnt been bad. I had to go to Mr. Gattis for a birthday party last night and a ladies meeting with church tonight. I took my shakes to both. I did great last night and tonight until it came to clean up and I nibbled here and there on carrots, cucumbers, apples, and a few bites of a cheese ball. I am worried to death that I have messed up. Of course when I see that some Drs are allowing you all salad and things like that it helps me to think that I will be ok. But again I am still a little worried. I start my liver cleanse this Fri. Please any input is appreciated. Oh I hope I havent messed up.. I still have 10 days, surely that is enough time to get all of that out.

I have a few licks and larps myself. Really need to stop because I am so afraid it is going to mess me up. But it is really hard to break a habit that I have had forever..You know taste testing everything I cook. What did you mean no Protein shake for two days??? I am finding out that every dr has a different pre op diet to follow.. Hope things are going well for you.

So I am curious....Should you come off of b.c. if it is taken orally. I am on a very low dose just to help with pcos and dont know if I need to come off before surgery. Will definatly be calling the dr. Monday to find out but just curious as to what you all might know if its just the implants or oral as well. Thanks.

Yay!! October 15th is my date.. Started pre op yesterday. Stomach is growling as I write but it will be ok.. I have done really well today and really didnt get hungry until I went out to town and smelled Burger King.. I was never a fan of Burger King until now..LOL Wondering how you mothers and wives are handling supper for your families??? Best of luck to all of you who are getting real close and for those who are the pre op..
