checking in with February sleevers

My surgery was 2/7/19. I am down 55 pounds. I am 3 pounds away from my original goal weight of 160. I may aim for a goal of 150. -
How do you decide on a goal weight? My doctors office has my goal as a normal BMI but i think that with my body type, that would make me too small. What do you do?
-
The BMI charts do not account for muscle mass. That is why it is inaccurate for atheletes. I think having a low Fat percentage is more accurate and healthier.

I was banded 10/21/10. I lost weight very well for the first 4 months then i just stalled. I never had a fill. the doctor and nurse didn't think I needed one because I was doing well. Well after months of struggling to lose a pound we decided to get a fill. Much to my surprise (and the nurse that has been seeing me since surgery) I had 4cc in my band at the time of surgery.!!! There was no notation in my file. Even the doctor forgot that he did it. Well I got an additonal .5 cc. It is so weird. I feel like i did after surgery. I hope this does the trick!!! I feel a bit hoodwinked that I did not know I had fluid in the band.

Water, Water, Water
christina353 replied to Onederland2come's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does anyone use 4c brand water flavor packets. They are made with splenda. Taste really good!! But I really question the splenda. I drunk about 4or 5 packets per day. Is that too much. Could it explain a plateau? -
FitBit....anyone use it?

I had body bugg / body media for over a month and my husband just found it last night. He is a bit dense : ) -
I have been using the body bugg for 1 month. I love the information that it gives me but here is the problem. My average calorie deficit a day is 800-1100 calories and I have not lost any weight. I take in about 1100-1300 calories a day. I usually burn about 2100 callories per day without exercise. 2400 with exercise. I heard that if you are closer to your goal you can have a large calorie deficit. Is that true. I weigh 168 and my goal is 145. please help.

I have been doing some reading and I found that splenda or sucralose can cause fluid retention. So now I am wondering if splenda is responsible for my 1 month plateau. The stall coincides with my recent obsession with 4C water flavoring with splenda. I drink about 5 packets a day. It really helps me drink more water. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone with fluid retention or weight stall/gain and artificial sugars?

Thank you. I do follow low carb. I stay under 60 carbs. Yesterday I tried to go cold turkey from the silence.... Dang it felt like withdrawal. How do I get rid of the bloat? Also is there a better alternative to flavoring my water

Well said! Saalams -
I am still at a plateau. I tried to increase my calories to 1200. Not working. I actually gained a few ounces. Drinking water to the point I think I will float. Is it possible that my body wants me at 800 calories? Should I go over 1200. For background, I am 39 have lost half my goal weight. I am 5'3". Current weight 174. Goal according to dr is 140. I wear size 12/14 I am a fairly active person. Exercise 3 times a week and chase after 2 little boys. I cried this morning because I feel like I am failing. I have not lost anything in 1 month. I actually gained 2 pounds.

Hi I have been having steady weight loss for the past 2months with no fill and no hunger. I still don't get really hungry but I can eat a bit more. I mainly eat protein. Lately I am nibbling out of boredom and head hunger. I was 173 2 weeks ago. Now I am 176. I have lost inchesduring this time. My clothes fit lose. I have not had a period in 2 months by the way. Not pregnant. I am really getting depressed. I don't feel like I need a fill because I am pretty satisfied with my meals. I eat under 1000 calories a day. Please help. I hate seeing the scale go up. -
