I have been heavy all my life, from the time I was a small child to present day. I have struggled with my weight my whole life, It has affected almost every aspect of my life. I'm a very shy person and often being the only''fat kid'' made the situation much worse. I had the lap band surgery 5 years ago this june, at present I have lost a total of 165 pounds. That would seem a great accomplishment if I did not still weigh 300 pounds.During the first 3 years I had my surgery I steadily lost weight but as the fourth year apporched I started to gain weight back. Now in the last year I have lost an additional 30 pounds, but I find myself at a stand still with my weight. I won't pretend I do everything correctly when it comes to eating the right foods and the right portions but I am becoming incressingly frusterated by my lack of weight loss. I have not been to my doctor in about 2 1/2years now, do to insurence{or lack there of lol} I am sure I need an adjustment on my band to continue to loss weight. I also keep a food journel to record what I eat every day. When I first had my surgery I was told to try to stick to a diet of about 500 calories but I found this next to impossible. Today I try to stick closer to a goal of about 1600 calories and I still find that very hard some days. I have come to understand that I need help discussing my problems, and I hope to do that here.
