Fill went just fine. The only problem I had was the NP had me lay down with a pillow in the small of my back. That put my shoulder in a real bind. Other than that it went great. She said that I had .6cc before and put in 1.2 cc for a total of 1.8cc. I'm not sure if that was enough for the first fill or not. We shall soon see. On liquids for 24 hrs than mushies for 3 days. Having a smoothie king blueberry and bannana smoothie now for lunch. Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I know us guys can be babys about some things. Now I know what to expect it is a breeze. Hugs Chris

Morning ladies, Well I think I am ready for today. I had b-fast. I want to tell you about that. if you have not tried them the Jimmy Dean D-Lights turkey sausage bowls are great. They are scrambled egg whites, potatoes, turkey sausage and reduced fat cheese. 230 cal 23g Protein 7g fat 19g carbs, Apples, Yes I am very excited about the walk. It will do so much for me. It is a goal to work for plus all the training leading up to it will help me get the weight off faster and easier or at least cant hurt. I will check in after fill and let you know how it went. Chris

So I just wanted to drop in and see how everyone was doing. Having a time getting to sleep tonight. I guess I am thinking too much about my fill. I have to be at DR office at 245. They told me no food after 1045 and no liquid after 1245. I am getting excited about it, but nervous also. i know it is time as i am eating more than I think I should be at this point.. Although deb and i went to lunch today and split a meal. That is the first time we have done that.. I felt great about the amount of food I ate today. Had a rough day at PT. Shoulder was a little sore today. Used it way too much this weekend. Oh well thats the way it goes. We all have normal lives to lead no matter what else is going on in our lives. It's getting better just slow. On another note, I signed up today for the Susan G. Komen 3 day. The walk here in Dallas is Nov. 4-6 2011. So I have a little more than 11 months to get ready for it. One of my goals is to get down to 250 before the walk. That is about 5-6lbs a month between now and then. I know I can do it. The walk is 60 miles over three days. Most of the ppl that I know who have walked in the past say they walk 300 miles or more during training.. That alone should help me out. i would love to be at goal by the time I walk but not going to hold my breath. Well I am going to try to hit the hay. Hope everyone has a wonderful night and I will chat soon... Hugs Chris

I go in for my first fill tomorrow. I will let you know as soon as I get my EOB from insurance. How has your experience been with True results so far? I am going to the Hurst TX office. I really like most of the ppl there.

Debbies finger is doing ok I guess. It is really sore and she keeps hitting it on things. She bumped it this morning and almost passed out from the pain. I am trying to talk her into letting me take her to the dr monday. It's been interesting here these last couple days. My father, who is a diabetic and for the most part blind, fell and hurt himself wed night. Then deb Thursday night, my shoulder, my mother is having really bad muscle cramps. We made for an interesting group all weekend. I am really looking forward to getting home and back to my normal things. Love being here at mom and dads, but not the best place for me right now. Mom has way too much crap food in her house. She does real good when it comes to feeding my dad but she likes her Snacks. I can avoid them at home for the most part cause I don't buy them, but here that's another story. I tried to tall to her about it and all I did was make her mad. I am need of a fill bad but have to wait till Tuesday. Can't wait. Time to buckle down and get my weight loss kicked in the butt. My goal right now is to get under 300 by new years day. Bout 15-20 lbs this next month. I know I can do it just need to buckle down. That's the hard part about the holidays for me. My family has always had get togethers that center around food. That's just what we do. We get together and eat. My mom makes enough food to feed an army. I've always been the one that cleaned up. Thursday I didn't do as well as I wanted. I feel that I ate more than I should have. As I said in earlier post I did better this year than preband. I know the band will help me with that and I also know that right now I really have no restriction. On another note though. I did get to spend some father/son/grandson time today. Dad kiddo andki spent 3-4 hrs at a gun show today. I haven't been to one with my father in years. We had a really great time. The big majority of my memories of doing things with my dad center around hunting and shooting. Something he started me doing when I was 6. So to get to share these things with my son and dad at the same time is wonderful. I don't know how much longer I am going to get to do these things with dad. His kidneys are starting to shut down. He is at about 14%. He is getting put on the transplant list and has an appointment with dr to see about starting dialisys(sp) on wed. Sorry about bouncing around like this. I am on my phone and getting back to something to add is very much a pain. I have taken up enough space for tonight. I hope everyone has a great Sunday and will catch up later. Hugs chris

Happy Birthday Phyll.

Evening everyone, My black friday started early. I had to make an emergency run to walmart last night at 1130. Debbie tried to cut the end of her finger off with a rotary cutter. It took almost 2 hrs to get the bleeding to stop. The only good thing about it happening last night is that i had all the checkout lanes to myself. I had to park almost in the street but ppl were huddled around all the pallets of stuff that went on sale. I was in and out of there in 5 min.. That is a record for anybody at walmart. She is doing ok today. Her finger is a little sore. I was excited about going shopping today. I haven't been shopping with my mom since i was in high school. We spent most of the day in fabric stores. My wife and mother are doing fleece blankets for all the kids. So yes I am a loving husband but i went for me just as much. Hugs Chris

Evening ladies, I hope everyone had a wonderful day! Really good here. Spent the day with my beautiful wife, my sweet son and my parents. I did eat turkey with all the trimings, but I didn't eat near the amount that I normally would have. I guess I'm going black Friday shopping with Deb and my mother. I am kind of excited about it. I have not gone shopping on blk Friday in 20 yrs. I have always worked. Anyway enough for tonight. Will check in tomorrow. Hugs Chris

How is everyone doing today? I Just have to get through this week then I go for my first fill on the 30th. Getting a bit nervous about that one. I HATE @&$! Needles. I guess it's about time to get over that feeling. Well finished first week of physical therapy. A little sore but made it. About 100 degrees movement so far. It's slow and painful but I knew it would be. Janet.... Thanks for the website. I haven't gotten time to really look at it but what I saw looked good. I made that roasted chicken recipe that was posted acouple days ago. Wow it's great. I recomend a 1/2 can of beer in each bird. That's what I did and it fell apart. I have been making these egg bites that I found on that eggface website. Those things rock. I mads some yesterday with ham, Swiss, broccoli. My family has fallen in love with them. If you couldn't tell I love to cook. I grew up with a mother who was a basic life skills,& home economics teacher. I started cooking when I was three. I am actually seriously considering going to culinary school and poss opening a restaurant(s). Have been talking to some ppl about looking into a place that sort of caters to ppl that have had WLS. Would love to here all your input. Hugs chris

I'm from Texas. -
I was banded on oct 27. So two weeks post op. I am just now starting to get hungry. I was doing cream based soups day two. Just ran them through the blender. I had no problems with them, but go by what your dr says you should eat. You can do anything for a few days to a couple weeks. From my understanding weeks 2 through first fill are the worst. I am scheduled for my first fill on nov 30. Can't wait

I was banded on the 27 of oct. Where are you from -
Morning!!!! no Janet you didn't run me off. I fully expected the ass kicking and deserved it. I did go to both drs today. My shoulder doc is having me start PT soon. I am still restricted on my movement. I am at least out for another month. I go back to see him on the 9 of dec. Also went to the lapband dr today. I got a clean bill of health from him. He also told me something interesting. I talked to him about my issue with the doughnut. He laughed, and said that the only way i am going to find out what works is to try. now before you say anything i know i screwed up. I have talked to my wife about cleaning up the food intake of everyone in the family. I dont buy things that are bad for me. I know i will eat things i shouldnt if they are around. I have my first fill on the 30th of this month. I cant wait to get through this next step in my new life. I want to thank you Janet for the "tough love". We all need it now and then. I really appreciate you all and want to say thank you. HUGS Chris

Afternoon ladies!!! Sorry I have not really posted much after surgery. shoulder really makes it hard to post. Doing pretty good though. Have to tell you about my first experience with pbing. Debbie went to the doughnut shop for the kiddos this morning. I went in to steal a little piece of chocolate cake doughnut. Bad idea, about 3 min after trying, it came back up. Dang it chocolate is a major weakness of mine. I can stay away from alot of things except chocolate. Oh well I will just have to get my choco fix somewhere else. Other than that episode things are great. A little pain from the port area, but other than that lapband is great. No complaints. shoulder is doing ok I think. I took out the stitches last night. It was getting pretty itchy and they were sticking in my shirts when i tried to take them off. I'm starting to get a little movement back. Very little but some is better than what its been. Will let you all know what drs say on tuesday. I hope everyone is doing well and having a good weekend. Hugs, Chris

Howdy all. Just stoping in for a few min. How is everyone? All is going well here. Shoulder is doing ok. Still pretty tender but manageable. Debbie and I went to one of our support group meetings Wednesday night. We go to hers on the first wed and mine on the second Monday. I go back to both drs on Tuesday. Can't wait to see what shoulder dock has to say. I think I am looking at 6-8 weeks before I can go back to work full time. I am going to go stir crazy by then, but at least this way I will get to see my parents for the holidays. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Chris
