OK here are the pics, DONT SCROLL DOWN IF YOU DONT WANT TO SEE! the first pic shows the DR holding back the liver to find the stomach, the 2rd picture shows all the fat around my stomach, the 3rd shows pytting the band in and the 4th shows the band in place with the stitches!

Mr Dr is Dr Billing with puget sound surgical ceter in Edmonds Wa. For day of the surgery and the next day I was on clear liquid. which included Jello, brooth, popsicles, Chystal light, diluted juice, and tea of coffe. day three thru eleven is full liquid which includes Milk, starined Soups, yougurt, pudding, protien drinks, and carnation instant Breakfast. day 12-19 is pureed, which include cottage cheese, mashed potatos, cream of wheat, strained fruit, pureeed vetables. I fell great today Stomach wise, I was able to get another rx for nausea, this is a pill form and some valium. I think my biggest problem is my back injury which keep me heavily medicated on pain meds which make me nauseated. The dr says my incisions look great and I am doing fine, he gave me some pictures of the proceedure! OMG:omg: anyone wanna see?? LOL Good news I am down 7.5 pounds in 6 days!!:clap2: Bad news is my boss called today and fired me! anyone know a lawyer that would be willing to give me a free phone consolation?:help:

Still having what must be gas pain,,its on the left side below my left breast and left shoulder. Still having nausea problems, so they gave me a supository,OMG! isnt that great, problem is I cant really reach to put it in,,feelling a little better today. I will see the DR today regarding the swelling.

If I stick witjhliquids, I will throw up, mushies seem to settle my stomach, I am more nauseated when there is nothing in my stomach. Will see the Dr tommorow to see if I can get anti nausiate medicine

No fever or redness, definatly sore to the touch, there is no way I would be able to wear pants at this point. I am going to see if I can get in to see the Dr tommororw just to make sure. Im not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time. anyone develop sleep apnea AFTER the poceedure?

feeling really bad again today, not hungry at all, weak and nausiated, eating less than 1/4 cup portions of cream of wheat, belended cottage cheese, SF jello and trying to keep water down. I havent thrown up yet. There is no way I will be back to work wednesday, I never thought I would feel this bad for this long.

did anyone's incision cuts become hard and swollen? the one that they put in the access port is swollen the size of a small orange and hard..freekin me out!

yes, the swollen incision is on the left, doesnt look infected and I dont have a temp, its just hard like a small orange. Taking it real easy today!

Hey all, just checkin in after surgery 04-26-07. I was really scared, mostly because I didnt follow the pre op diet at all,.I know how stupid it was but just had way too many personal things going on. When they pulled the breathing tube out, I had a real hard time breathing! this was one of by biggest fears and it came true. I was the last one to leave the OR recovery room and was kept on oxygen for another 4 hours after surgery. remember breath deep, the deeper the better to get all the sleeping gas out of ASAP! the pain from the stomach was very minimal. however, since I have a bad back injury I cannot lay on my back for more than 5 minutes, I was on my back for 4 hours which really hurt, the back pain was a 9 out of 10 on the pain scale. once they got some liquid pain meds in me and i was able to lay on my side I was fine. I actually took a couple 15 min naps in the hospitol between them checking my BP, temp, ect. At about 1pm I was ready to go home, got some more pain meds on board and took some more naps at home. I have had a real sore throat from the breething tube so SF popsicles are a MUST! so far I have eating small portions of jello, pudding, drinking sips of water and today is the only day I have felt nausiated. one of the insicions is swollen and hard like a small orange. Took a shower for the first time today, that felt good, but I am still a little weak. anyone else noticed on the cuts being hard? maybe that is where the port is?:help:

I agree! this is my day 3 and I feel the worst so far, My doc didnt say anything about trying not to take the pain meds, problem is not throwing up!

Thanks everyone, I dont know if it was cause I ate a spoonful of p-nut butter or maybe the pain meds are wearing off, but I am feeling like crap today! This is the first day I dont feel hungry, its gonna be hard to keep liquids down today!

what about a spoonful of peanut butter? anyone know if this is bad?

I go in tommorow and am scared to death, I hope the nurses will re assure me, My mom cannot go to the hospitol with me, and I am so scared!

Hey all, Tommorrow is my big day, I am absolutly terrified! I never stayed on the pro op diet! OMG I hope my liver isnt too big! Do you think they will just stop and not do it if they find out my liver inst shrunk?

The Doctor put me on a low carb pre op diet, it is supposed to shrink my liver to make it easier to band me. They said if it doesnt shrink they would have to cut me open to put the band on rather than doing it laproscopitly (sp?) has any one had to be cut rather than the "lapro" way? I have to admit, I do surgery 04-26-07 and havnt stuck to my diet at all. is it too late to try now? or does it really matter?

Do you think I should go on a liquid diet for the last 2 days, maybe do protien shake from vreakfast and lunch, then a low carb dinner and then full low protien shake for the last 2 days?

I agree with the Chystal light fans! I love the Lemonaide! the fruit punch made me a little sick, I am on high dose pain meds for a back injury and the lighter liquids seem to settle better than that dark colored chystal lights. I have found they are expensive tho, we have a generic brand here in Washington, "whyler's light" I found it at rite aid on sale for only $1.49 for 8 "singles on the go" packets, way cheaper than CL which is about $3.79 here. I havent seen the orange CL, I will have to keep an eye out since I LOVE tang!

There are so many different kinds of protien drinks, and they are expensive, I know that they should have about 15 grams of protien and be sugar free. but what has everyone found to be the best tasting??:hungry:

Thanks Kat! I set to be banded 04-26-07 and am starting to freak out,,I'm scared and not sure if I am going to go thru with it. I can definatly live with out donuts!

that would suck If I gained weight! I will be on a clear liquid diet for 3 weeks, colored liquid for 2 weeks then mushy diet for another 2 weeks, so I hope that 6 weeks with out food I will lose some. I do fear the gain after I am going to be able to eat regular food:hungry:

I have been piggin out, cant seem to stop! I have an appointment monday, I assume they will put me on a pre op diet then, so i gotta have fun this weekend!:hungry:

United Health care just approved my surgery, I have a 10% co pay so my out of pocket will be about $1720.00 plus 700.00 for nutritionist. going thru Puget sound surgical center, Dr Billings. Surgery date 04-26-07. I weight about 250 5'2. any idea how much wight I can expect to lose the first month or so?:clap2:

will the dr's mexico bill insuance cause that seems the way to go!
