I was in for 18 lbs. Only lost 9, but hey, it's 9 lbs less. Where is the memorial Day Challenge? I checked into one but the spreadsheet is locked.

So miserable. Please help!

Also a RN here. I take colace, use benefiber (though not regularly). Eat high fiber high protein cereal daily (which my surgeon is against) and I have a lactose intolerance but now have milk with my cereal and a yogurt in the evening, which my surgeon is also against. I don't drink enough water either, have to work on that. -
Hi Molly. I am also a RN. The Challenge sheet is apparently still locked.
-
I am not doing so well because I am not on the bandwagon. I don't know why. Wish I did. I am still making better choices but not good enough because I have lost and gained the same pound this month.
-
I am still sitting at the same weight for 3 weeks, but it is all because I am not following the rules. I don't know why...

Hi Everyone. It has been a little over 6 months for me, Aug. 3. I am losing weight but having a lot of problems following the "RULES". I know I would be doing better if I were following the program more carefully.

Hi Dawnzy. I am about 30 miles south of you. I had my surgery at the Minimally Invasive Surgical Hospital in Lenexa. -
48 DD, lost 60 lbs, down to a 46 C LONG!!!
-
Amber, you should be giving your surgeon a call, especially if you are in so much pain you are crying. Best wishes.
-
50 lbs in less than 2 months? WOW!
-
Kashi GOLEAN, high protein and high fiber, which helps with that OTHER problem!
-
I pop the big caps. It tastes like tuna in oil. Not something I really want to taste but something I can tolerate for the benefits.
-
Just because I COULD eat more doesn't mean I SHOULD eat more. I also have to really think about whether it is stomach hunger or head hunger. I read somewhere the other day that "If HUNGER is not the problem, FOOD is not the solution."
-
I have the same issue. I am not physically hunger, just head hunger. If someone could just invent a band for the brain. I read somewhere a couple of days ago: "If hunger is NOT the problem then food is NOT the solution."

Count me in for 18!

Did your Dr stop meds gradually?
joycie replied to Southern Leo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on meds for GERD (GastroEsophagealRefluxDisease). My hiatal hernia was repaired when I was banded and my surgeon stopped the 2 meds I was on for that then. He also stopped my arthritis meds because it's a NSAID and can cause stomach problems. I monitored my blood pressure at home and when it dropped I called my primary care physician. He had my take half the dose, then a few days later cut that in half then discontinued it. I just have to monitor it occasionally. I am also now off my asthma meds. Good luck! -
I am taking the fish oil caps but poking a hole in the end and squeezing it into my mouth. This is per my surgeon.

I am a RN and those symptoms you are describing are also symptoms of a heart attack. Please get checked out!

joycie replied to Nicole74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats Nicole! I was banded 08/03/10, 5 months ago, and I have also lost 50 lbs. I am also 20 years older than you and don't look nearly as good, but so much better than I did. I am working on getting more active and trying to get back to the "RULES". Keep up the good work! -
Tylee, hang in there. You were banded the day before me. You have lost 70 lbs! I have lost 50. Both in 5 months. We can get it back together and get on with it!

Welcome KCKaye and Phil. I was banded Aug 3 at the Minimally Invasive Surgical Hospital in Lenexa. Lost 50 lbs so far, provided I didn't gain it all back yesterday.
