Hello Maryjaja. I got this forwarded to my inbox today and feel like maybe I am supposed to respond. I haven't been on the forum in a very long time. I was banded on August 3, 2010. I lost nearly 75 lbs but went back to old habits and ways of coping with stress and realized today that I have gained 50 back. : ( Praying you do well with picking up on your journey!

I haven't been here since August and I have not been taking care of myself. As of last week I had gained 2 lbs a month for 4 months. Then I weighed today and I have picked up 4 pounds since last week. I know much of it is probably fluid and I know I have been under a lot of stress and medicating with food. I am taking better care of myself and plan to continue to do even better.

Hi Newbie. Don't worry about eating "enough" at this point in time. Be concerned about getting enough protein and fluids. Do not eat enough to vomit. Vomiting is dangerous and can cause your band to slip.

Bacon and kielbasa are both high fat foods. It might be interesting to see if lower fat pork would cause you as much discomfort.

Kelly sorry to hear about your mom. Don't forget to take care of yourself! Joan praying the band slippage corrects itself. I am 215 today, down 2.25. Had a fill on Thursday. I also had a NSV today that means a lot to me. Acouple of years ago family and I were swimming in a lake. Everyone swam to a floating dock and got out. I couldn't pull myself up the ladder. I had to swim to the shore. I was so humiliated. A little biy ago I climbed out of the pool at the YMCA using the ladder! Yay me! -

Has lapband weight loss helped your health problems?
joycie replied to Chalant's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am no longer on my blood pressure meds, asthma meds, GERD meds, and not using my CPAP. Less pain in my back. Definitely the best thing I ever did for myself (barring husband and kids). -

Wash with soap and dry the area well. I use an OTC ointment "Baza". It is a 2% Miconazole (antifungal) with a moisture barrier. A large tube runs around $15 (the last time I bought it) but it lasts for months.

Hi Sarah. I am in KS and have coventry as a medicare replacement insurance. Coventry covered my band placement although I still had to come up with a huge chunk out of pocket but that also was impacted by my surgeon's practice. My port flipped and I had to have a second surgery to correct it and they are balking at paying for it. On my last visit the surgeon's financial person told me they were no longer going to accept coventry because of the difficulty they were having getting payment.

My number was also a 0! But I am not following the rules and under a lot of stress. That is not an excuse for not following the rules! Need to get my head back in the game, get back on the bandwagon!

roxsl38, there are several lapband docs in the greater KC area but I can't tell you more than that.

Lost 6 lbs since last fill a month ago, but hubby has been in hospital and rehab for 2 weeks since total knee repalcement. I have gained 1.5 lbs in those two weeks.
-
Tracy, you need to go to the ER when that happens, at least once to rule out a heart attack.

Hey Rick, I went to add you as a friend and it said you had added me. Then I noticed an envelop and it was a message saying you had added me but it wouldn't let me reply... I am not familiar yet with any of this site except the forums. Give me time, I will learn. Hope you are doing well!

Has Anyone Been to a Support Group Meeting?
joycie replied to TheRealSouthernBelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My hospital has groups or classes every other Saturday. One Saturday is a Behavior Modification class and a Nutrition class. On the Saturday 2 weeks later it is a support group run by the clients. There are folks there with sleeves, bypasses, etc, though most of us are banded. I just went to support group yesterday and love it. There is nothing like getting support from others who have been or are where you are. -
A friend and I talked about this and brought it up in support group. I like the way I look in the mirror but sometimes it doesn't look/feel like me and I wonder who the stranger is and if I know her.
