I'm not sure they haven't figured it out I eat my protein, I exercise 4 days a week, my doctor is great so I don't think it's him. The way I feel is my body just doesn't want to lose it, I have been overweight my whole life. Maybe it's the band but the doctor check it and everything is in place and it's holding fluid. I really wish I knew but if I figure it out I will let you guys know.

I Might Be The Only 1 Who Feels This Way
jodi8135 replied to ChristinaAshley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Omg you sound just like me about 2 months I was so fed up with throwing up I was ready to give up. I went as far as talking to my doc about the sleeve ( my husband and doc was not happy about it though) my doc told me to give the band one last shot. So before all this all I was eating (drinking) was my protein shakes and I wasn't losing. So my doc removed 2cc and now we are slowly putting it back .3cc at a time. Now I'm eating real food and I finally started to lose, it still is going really slow but I finally see the scale going in the right direction. Don't give up I know it hard but you really need to talk with your doctor that's what he is there for. Have some fluid removed because you are too tight and slowly have it put back in. Good luck and let us know what happens -
Walking around usually helps me, I'm banded 2 1/2 years now and I was getting stuck so many times ( my fault) that I actually don't eat that much in fear of being stuck. My doc says that's why I'm not losing I'm not getting enough real food. I get in my protein with shakes but I know I'm not eating enough cal. They just removed some fluid in hopes it will allow me to eat we'll see I feel like such a failure I avoid food at all cost. Sorry about the venting just really angry with myself

One Year Post Op, No Results. Please Help
jodi8135 replied to LyMarie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lymarie just hang in there you just had a baby your hormones are messing ith the band. My son is months I breast feed for four months so doing high protein was tough it just made the baby very (painful) gasy. Once I stopped breast feeding I was still having a hard time because there were days I could eat everything in site and then there were days I couldn't eat anything without throwing it up. So I went back to the doc it checked the band to make sure everything was ok it was fine so he gave me a fill and now I have great restriction ( I have 8cc) I'm not hungry between meals and I don't eat thing I know I can't because I am sick of throwing up ( my 3year old daughter actually pretends she is throwing up from watching me so many times). Go to the doc and get a fill it will help and give yourself a little break you just had a baby it will take a little while for those hormones to get back in check. You are not a failure today is a new day... Good luck -

Checking in at 229 gained 2 back but it is that TOM.

Make a doctors appointment and get a fill because it doesnt sound like you have good restriction and once you go you start fresh it's a new day!!! I was banded jan 2010 lost 40lbs and got pregnant in feb 2011 I regained all the weight ( while pregnant I only had 1cc taken out which put me to 7cc). I didn't go back to the doc right away cause I was breast feeding so 4 weeks ago I decided to go back (I was done breast feeding). I had discussed with the doc about doing the sleeve because I really wasn't happy with the band the 40lbs that I did loss was very hard to loss. So he sent me for an upper gi to check and make sure there was nothing wrong, everything was fine so he gave another fill and said to give it one more shot. Now I actually think I am in that green zone everyone talks about, there is no way I can binge and I don't even feel like snacking. It's 3 weeks since I had the fill and I'm down 9 lbs so now I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and see hat happens. I'm really glad my doc wanted me to give it one more shot because it was my fresh start. And try to get that boyfriend on the band wagon with you it will help both of you in the long run. Good luck Tomorrow is a new day

Those Of Us Who Are Brave Enough To Share Weve Failed
jodi8135 replied to soulsong's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so with you...I feel like a big failure. I am two an half years out I had struggled to lose 40lbs in the first year then I got pregnant gained all the weight back. Now my baby is 6 months and once again I am struggling. The practice where I had my lap band has a new doctor so I talked to him and we are considering doing the sleeve but he wanted me to give the band one last try so he gave me a fill. And I think he may have had magic hands I feel more restriction then I ever did. But on the other hand I really can't eat anything mostly Protein shakes and small Protein Bars and sometimes fruit smoothies for extra calories. It's only been 3 weeks and I lost 8lbs but I know my body I will get to a curtain loss and get stuck and now without eating I don't know what more I will be able to do. Since for me it was like starting from fresh I am looking at it a whole new way so I guess I will just have to wait and see. But don't give up like you said this thing wasn't cheap try doing more shakes the first week was touch because I wanted food to chew but now I don't even think of food because I am sick and tired of throwing up Good luck -

You can drink and yes it is just empty calories but you are only 20 so your life doesn't have to stop but you will find the it slows the weight loss. Has for the pot, if you don't get the munches then it's fine but if it makes you tired you won't want to work out and if you don't work out you will have extra skin. So it all depends on how fast you want this process to go and if you do drink just watch what you are drinking mixed drinks are really bad and beer may bother you stomach due to the carbonation I went from beer to wine. Good luck I know you will make the right choice for you.

Had Lap Band, Now Considering Bypass...
jodi8135 replied to chlyno98's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You had success with he band before you just fell off the band wagon for awhile. I did the same thing for different reasons but I just got back on the wagon a week ago and I'm feeling good. I talked to the doctor and was ready to Go fo the sleeve but he suggested I talk to the nutritionist first. So I made an appointment with her and she went over what I eating and we made a few changes and in the first week I lost 6lbs. The changes were simple like instead of using reg peanut butter in my protein shakes I use pb2 ( which in a powder peanut butter with a lot less fat and calories) also adding ground flaxseed to my shakes for the omega 3. Simple but helping don't give up because the same hing can happen with he bypass and sleeve. Good luck -

hello my name is jodi i was banded jan 2010 right now my band is filled with 8.5cc in a 11cc band. i believe this may be my sweet spot even though i don't seem to be lossing much weight. i am having a hard time eating any types of meat or chicken. so i want to start eating more fish which i have never cooked any kind of fish before so i am not sure where to begin. i have no idea how to cook salom or flounder so it can be healthy and tasty. if anyone out there has any advice i would love to hear it. thanks jodi starting weight---242 todays weight----207

i choose the band because i still want to have children and they say it is a lot safer with the band then any other surgury.

Little restriction but getting stuck all the time.
jodi8135 replied to zeniada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it could be what you are eating... i know i can no longer eat any bread or simialier foods, no more red meat and no more chicken. i now eat a lot of seafood for me it goes down the best. -
I was banded on____since then I have lost____!
jodi8135 replied to extraonme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was banded on jan 15, 2010 almost a year ago i have lost a total of 40lbs including pre op. i consider myself a slow loser but it is ok because it is going in the right direction and i truely believe that because it has been so slow i really learned what this is all about i have tried so many different ways to speed this up and i figured out exactly want the doctors have been saying all along up my protein. so now i eat about 70g of protein a day and lose 1lb a week. and i am happy with that, i have also notice a hugh difference in my body with the 40lbs it was 14% body fat and 6inches around my stomach. so the point is slow is good because your skin will go with it and you will learn how to keep it off forever.... good luck to all the slow losers out there SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!!!! -
Help!!! Discomfort and vomiting. Am I on the right track?
jodi8135 replied to Curlycat3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
try changing what you are eating, i was vomiting alot and then i figured out i just cant eat those things. no chicken or steak, seafood goes down best and its a better choice anyway. just try different things till you figure it out some times its just what your eating. its all just a learning process...
