Pre-Op diet...counting protein, carbs, veggies AND cals?
MiLeBr replied to KikstersRT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist is having me follow the post operation post liquid diet. And I do have to say it's working. I have an apple and a cheese stick in the morning for breakfast. I have a low cal/carb high protien shake for lunch with some veggies. And for dinner 4-6 oz's of chicken/fish/game. Even if I make a casserole I can have a cup of it and some veggies. The basic breakdown is 30 carbs for breakfast, 30 carbs for lunch and 30 for dinner. 0-15 for a mid morning snack and 0-15 carb for afternoon snack. The veggies I love are "freebies", like radishes and cucumbers. And even three cups of popcorn is only 15 carbs, and 3 cups of popcorn is a good size snack. I haven't been too hungry and it's been really easy to follow. If you would like some more foods that you can eat on this just let me know. -
I met with Dr. Swannack this afternoon. I am officially on the surgery schedule for Jan 10th 2011! Can't wait for there to be a January Bandsters...lol

Alright, so I took the hour long psych test last friday. I go see the shrink on Tues the 12th to go over test. Can anyone tell me what to expect. Is it pretty simple or do they really want to go indepth? Any advice or experiences welcomed!

So the psych exam was pushed back until today. And sadly it did not go well. It was like yours Betsy, told me he would approve me for surgery, but he didn't think it was going to do any good. It was 2 1/2 hours of pure hell. I left that session in tears.:huh2: I guess this just means I work my butt off and show him just how wrong he is about me. :cursing: Some stupid test and a two and half hour session doesn't mean that this jerk knows me. :tt2:

Thank you all for the support. I met with the dietician and took my psych test last friday. Not as bad as I thought it would be. I meet with the shrink in a week to go over my test.

Hello all. I decided to make a change in my life and get the surgery after years of failed attempts at weight loss. I am not scheduled until January 10th, 2011. No way my work would give me a week off during the Holidays. But I am readying myself for this journey. I'm scared, I don't want to fail. Looking forward to following all your journeys and getting tips and encouragement along the way.

Just curious to see if there were any fellow Montanan's here, better yet in my area.

Decided last week that I was going to so the surgery after months of debate. Had my seminar last Tuesday and my insurance requirement is a meeting with the dietician and that is today! Any ideas on what to expect or what will happen? After this is the psych test on Friday.
