  1. oh you poor thing!! I know how you feel as I am 4 days post op and yesterday was my worst day. I had the same "what have I done" thoughts, but after sleeping well last night (after taking some pain med) woke up a different person. If you feel concerned though, ring your doctor, you alone know your body and how much you can stand. I also felt feverish and could only sip, but today feel like a million dollars, I have done house work and looked after the kids but have sit down every now and then. The other thing that makes me feel great is that I am 5.5kg lighter (10lb) and feel so different already. I have used a lot of alternative remedies too(I am a bit of a hippy chick). Arnica cream around the incisions(not on the wounds) and the spray under my tongue which all helps with bruising and and inflammation and also a powder probiotic in my Water to get the good bacteria back into my stomach to help with the acidity. Also "rescue remedy" which is a flower essence to help the shock of surgery and some liquid zeolite which gets all of the anasthetic and drugs out of your system quickly. It is just a help, I think to give the body a helping hand. I know this sounds a little out there as well, but I have been doing some visualizations (of me slim and trim) and it makes me not want to give up. Hugs to you and I hope you start to feel better:heart:

    Just had my surgery

Thanks for that! I cant imagine eating "normally" at the moment, but I had to decline an invite to lunch today and it set me thinking! It is a great ideal to order off the kids menu, although here in Oz, it seems that most of the kids food is deep fried crap or cheese loaded pasta/pizza. I should have taken more notice "preop" at what would be suitable, most restaurants and cafes have Soup though. What I have found with the band so far is it has made me super mindful of what I am putting in my mouth all the time, and how much, whereas before I would almost eat without thinking.Like many on the forum have said, the band is only part of the process and our minds are the other. I think I will have to try and find others in my area who may have had the proceedure and pick their brains as well! xo
  3. I just laughed so hard, it nearly made my stitches pop, ouch! I had been thinking about clear fluids.....not that sort though, lmao!!!!!!

    Just had my surgery

Ha ha, I think my husband was the same last night. He must have slept right on the edge of the bed and clung like a cat for fear of giving me a dig in the tummy! I have done some housework today but am taking it pretty easy, I think it is an age thing too (takes me a while to recover from a lot of stuff nowdays, lol!) Good luck to all those going back to work, did you tell any of your co-workers? I have only told my very close friends and family and being a stay at home mum dont have to deal with the questioning. Not sure what it will be like going out for lunch with friends though, any ideas on how to handle social occasions?

    Just had my surgery

Hi there! I have also have just had my banding done (last thursday) and I must say have felt pretty average until today(day 4). I actually slept in bed last night and was able to turn over both sides and I think that was why I feel like a normal person today:thumbup: I have lost 10lbs and feel really good but a bit tired which I guess is understandable. This is a great website as I live a fairly remote part of Australia so love to read others posts to see if what is happening to me, others are also experiencing. All of our journeys are individual though and it is good to know that there are others out there to encourage and share their stories. Love it, xo:heart:
  6. Hi All, I am getting ready for my banding this Thursday. I have had previously a stapling (a long time ago) but had it removed due to it malfunctioning. I am excited but nervous as I know what it is going to be like but I am sure it wont be as invasive as a stapling. Anyway, it is a great site to get information and it is also lovely to see the successes
