I probably have the same story as most as in I've struggled with my weight nearly all of my life. There were numerous periods that I lost but of course it always made its way home plus brought friends. So I tried to get surgery approved at the end of 2009 but then I was laid off in December. I finally landed a great job in May and decided in July to look into my options. I was happily surprised that my surgery will be 4 months to the day since I contacted my insurance companies. I opted for the lap band because I wanted a slower change and I didnt like the idea of having my plumbing redone. I know a few people that had the bypass done and they lost the weight so quick that they look sick now. I'm very excited about my choice. I'm not only doing this for myself but my husband, daughter, mom, brothers, nephew, etc. I want to be around to watch my daughter grow into a wonderful young woman and take care of my grandchildren or perhaps great grandchildren. This is an exciting time of all of our lives and I look forward to my journey.
