    I love this place!!

i was banded on July 19, 2010 and lovin every minute of it.
  5. I am fairly new here, but I have to tell you all that in the short time I have been here, I have cried and laughed so hard at some of your posts! I can't stop reading stuff!! I have laughed more reading these posts and the flat out honesty...from throwing up, farting, pooping, burping, and any other function our body has!! You guys are so honest, and so helpful just being real people talking about all the real things our bodies do!! its refreshing!! Thanks to all of you that have taught me things, or answered my questions, or just for posting for me (and others) to read and learn!! we're all in this journey together...I'm glad I found you guys to make the ride a little smoother!! Thanks Again!!:puke:

    Drinking from a straw?

:puke::lol:ROTFLMAO:lol:...that gave me the best laugh!! I love how honest you guys are on this board!! I get the best laughs!! As for drinking from a straw, I was told no also, and have done it a couple of times and not been bothered, I feel like I take less air in with a straw..but with or without a straw...I have never burped since surgery and oh sometimes I wish i could...but it never happens. Before surgery, i could burp with the best of them...I miss that relief from it though I know that!!

    Slow Weight Loss

Also make sure you are getting enough protein...i agree the Lean Cuisines may not be the best thing to eat for all meals. maybe not bad once in a while in a pinch, but not for all meals. throw in a protein shake here and there and it may help as well!! GOOD LUCK!! :puke:

    Keep getting colds!

the morning after surgery I started sneezing really bad ( UGH, was not fun) I did that for like 3 or 4 days...nothing but a stuffy nose and lots of sneezing. Been ok until now...now I have had a bad cold for 2 weeks..and had to go get antibiotics. I am not one for colds, so for me to have all this within a couple of months has had me and my family asking a lot of questions. Glad to see I am not alone here with it...:puke:

What foods get stuck in your band?

oh yeah...you know it...it feels like you are having a heart attack!! It is very painful...
  10. my port site is sensitive still, but not sore anymore. I have had a bad cold and coughing a lot which has made it a little more sensitive. My surgeon says it is normal for i to be sensitive because it is sewn to the fascia of the abdomin..basically tot eh wall of stomach muscles...so anytime you use those muscles it will be felt in some way.

    July Bandsters

YOU WILL!! YOU WILL!! YOU WILL!! I have 100% faith in you!! It takes a little time, but it will happen. I got a little impatient for a couple of weeks, but then I told myself it didnt come on over night and it wont go off over night. As long as I see that number on my scale going down..I'm happy. Even if it is only 1 pound...its better than a pound gained...know what I mean jelly bean...:puke:

its when your weight begins with a 1 and not in a higher number...:puke: in my case a 2... I have been over 200 pounds for 20 years...so ready for my weight to begin with a 1...

    July Bandsters

Thanks!! :puke: You hang in there too!! I am so happy I got banded!! It was the best move I have ever made!! You'll make it to Onederland before you know it!! I cant wait to make it!! I still have about 30 pounds to go before I get there, but I will and OH MY..I might have a party!! LOL...I havent seen onederland in 20 years!!
  14. My port site stayed tender for about 6 weeks. I never really felt the popping but it was certainly tender. Mine is just a little to the side of my belly button right where my waist naturally bends. So I can feel it more when I bend over or sit forward some...
  15. I, along with many others I think, always keep it in the back of my head about my band slipping....How would you know if it slipped?? Are you in pain?? Are you sick?? or can you just go back to eating a lot of food and never know it slipped?? Just curious if anyone knows about slipping bands?? :puke:
