Just got the go ahead for stage 2 (week 2 post-op). I had: -1/2 cup oatmeal real watery with vanilla flavored Protein powder mixed in.(not too bad) -1/2 a small sweet potato baked and pureed in my Ninja food processor with chicken broth and 1 tbsp. of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter.(Pretty tasty) sugar free pudding for dessert Anything is better than broth and jello!!

You Guys are SCARING ME!
Alycopp replied to ebeeze824's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery 9/28 too!!! I have no trouble getting anything down! That however is my problem. I am STARVING!!! AI have not had much pain, just a little. The diarrhea is not like being sick with a stomach virus diarrhea, its more like I have had nothing but liquid so as a result, liquid. I personally am not supposed to be on protein shakes yet, hopefully I get the go ahead tomorrow. All I can tell from this site is that everyone is VERY different. The only nausea I had was the day of surgery from anesthesia. Good luck to you. -
Just need to vent. I am 4 days out from surgery and have wanted to do this for a long time. I am glad my husband and I finally decided to go through with it(his is next week). However, I know a few people who have had this done and been told they took the easy way out or why didn't you try harder. BS This is not easy. I have been lucky to eat 200 calories the passed few days. I have lost 10 pounds in 5 days(not complaining, but that is crazy if u think about it). I eat nothing but liquids so i poop liquids, gross but true and really horrible. I am literally starving. I know its early to be so hungry, but I am, thats just the truth, what can I do. I have a cold on top of it which comes with a nasal drip that normally would cause diarhea, yeah, now just causing severe gurgling, pretty embarasssing. Easy, kiss my butt. Also, I have the people who are not dieting and not having lapband telling me what I can eat is not that bad. REALLY!!! You eat it for a week. Better yet do it for a day and see how you like it! I am truly happy with my decision and just needed to get this out somewhere where I knew people would understand. I fear that if I said it to non-bandsters they would tell me I was being whiny or I should have just done weight watchers, and I would end up in jail for assualt. LOL JK Anyway thanks for listening. Good luck to all. Sorry for the rant.:smile2:

Was banded Tuesday the 28th. Today has been tough. I woke up with a cold and have been having some minor gas pains. The biggest problem is that I am starving! My husband is having surgery next week and is trying sooo hard to support me by not eating around me, but that makes me feel bad. Him eating a sandwich in front of me makes me feel bad too though. I almost snatched an oreo out of my 5 year olds hand tonight. I know it will get better eventually, I hope! I am just going crazy tonight. The worst part is trying to hide it cause I don't want to discourage my husband since he is going in a week.

Just Starting... Step 1
Alycopp replied to sunnysocal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It was outpatient. My surgery was at 7:30 and I was home by 2:30. The pain has not been bad. Just very sore. The pain meds they give you help a lot. It has been a weird experience, but I am happy with the decision. Plus I have lost 5 pounds in 2 days! I am sure it will go back and forth, but for now it makes me feel better about eating nothing but jello and broth. LOL Good luck to you. -
Just Starting... Step 1

Congrats on starting the process. i am not familiar with your insurance I have BCBS NJ Direct and they require 6 months with a nutritionist. I just had my surgery yesterday and thre jumping thorugh hoops will hopefully pay off. The psych. evaluation is no big deal. The hardest part is once you ar3e aproved getting all your tests done for the surgery and medical clearance. All docs and insurance are different though. Sorry I know I wasn't much help, but good luck to you. -
September Bandsters!
Alycopp replied to Nursecutie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I was feeling hungry and asked my nutritionist for a suggestion. She said I could do clear protein. Oh by the way had surgery 9-28 on clear liguids until next Tuesday. So I added protein to my chicken broth which she said was fine and now I feel like my stomach is going to explode. My hunger did not get much better though. So now I am hungry and uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this? How is everyone else doing by the way? I hope well. -
How many days after surgery did you start to feel hungry?
Alycopp replied to Moo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Banded today and hungry today!!! Not starving but I really want a piece of toast or a cracker to crumble in my broth! I can't start protein for a week which sucks beause it seems to be helping others. -

September Bandsters!

Well I got banded today. Was so emotional before I wanted to cry because all I wanted was a bagel! I think I was just overwhelmed. Recovery SUCKED!! I kept throwing up no matter what they gave me. Finally they gave me something really strong a little before I was going home and I went home and slept for 5 hours. A little uncomfortable now but nothing horrible. I'm a little hungry though, but not sure if it is just in my head. Anyway, so glad to have somewhere to go to just spill it to people who get it. Good luck to all!!!:smile2: -
Sparkplug, I can't speak from experience as I am being banded Tuesday, but my doctor did say some people do not require fills and feel restricted. Congrats to you.
