    Karey: I am 41 years old. Most of my exercise is walking on the treadmill or mowing my yard. I was really surprised how many calories mowing burns up. But I think the reason I am burning so many calories is because I weigh so much. With each pound I lose, it is getting harder and harder to burn as many calories.
  4. My presurgery weight was 317 pounds. I was in a tight size 30 in April, now I am in a loose size 24. I almost cried when I realized I don't have to shop exclusively at Catherine's anymore. I can actually shop at regular stores now!!! Better prices and selection, I love my band!

    Julie, Your question really got me wondering... so I went back and checked over the past three weeks to see which days I burned the most calories. When I walked on the treadmill around 8 am in the morning, my calories burned averaged between 3200- 3500. When I waited until 2 pm or later my calories burned were about 2300. I also noticed that days when I exercised early, I am more active the entire day.

    Karey, how is the weighted vest doing? I am considering making one for myself out of an old hiking backpack and some weights. I have also heard that if you bundle up and sweat during a workout you will burn more calories. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

    Mine is still fairly new about three weeks, but right now I can't imagine that I will ever put mine aside unless I am at goal weight (maybe not even then). The Body Bugg has helped me almost as much as the band. But if a person isn't committed to logging every bite they put in their mouth, it will not work. I'm done with whining about NOT losing weight. I know in advance if my eating and exercise will result in a weight loss for the week. Without the BB it is so easy for me to deceive myself into thinking that I have did ok, when I really haven't. I love it, love it, love it!

    You keep track of your foods on the computer. You can type in everything you plan to eat of the morning, but I usually log it in twice a day. The Body Bugg has a wireless adapter that communicates with the website to record how much you have exercised. It is as simple as pressing a button and waiting for it to download. One of the best features of the website is that for calories burned, it will show you exactly how many calories you have already burned AND how many calories you will burn if you don't do anything else the entire day. It takes out all of the guess work. I try to exercise until it says that I can stay sedentary the rest of the day and still meet or exceed my exercise goal for the day. I love my body bugg!

    Karey, Scroll down and look on the bottom left side of page where you log in your calories. The buttons will say calories burned, nutrition, calorie balance, steps, and physical activity. Click on nutrition and it will tell you everything that you have recorded to eat that day. But the middle of the page is where you really see how you are doing for the day. Watch the calorie deficit and make sure that it hits your target for the day. If you are running behind, just a short walk will make a huge difference.

    This happened to me to. I went back and changed it to say that I had not had surgery and it worked fine. When the coach called on Monday I told her about it, she said that it was supposed to bring up a waiver for us to sign.

    I received my Body Bugg last Friday. I absolutely love it. It takes all the guess work out of dieting and exercise. I know when I have been active enough and when I need to get busy. Since last Friday I have lost five pounds!:whoo:

    Chewing and spitting out food

    I'm guilty also. I don't think it is any worse than chewing gum. Both satisfy the need to chew and the desire for flavor.
