I'm finding that I'm lactose intolerant too. I hope it's temporary!
-
In my program I don't move to milk until the 10th day (which is today for me).

Anyone Start At 240Ish Lbs?
Randgalt replied to PiggyPantsPaige's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was 240 at the start. But, you're most likely looking for women who were/are 240. -
Me too - very weak. Trying to keep up on fluids and protein shakes.
-
I will start religiously using stool softener. This morning, I got some idea of what women go through in labor. Sorry if that's TMI.

I'm so curious to see what my stomach looks like now. I'm considering getting an X-Ray to see it (would that work?). Any ever view their sleeve somehow?
-
I set them and click Save but the change never commits. Anyone else get this?
-
They gave me gas-x drops immediately when I was out of surgery.

Anyone Look At Their Sleeve Via X-Ray?
Randgalt replied to Randgalt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Would it show in an x-ray without taking drinking some kind of radioactive liquid? -
August Sleevers..what Is The Progress
Randgalt replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in Food and Nutrition
Sleeved on the 27th: Lost: 17 lbs food Stage: Still on liquids and can't wait to advance Pain: Almost none Nausea: None Energy: I tend to feel a bit weak due to lack of calories This has been super easy and I'm excited about the future. -
I would rate the pain a 4 out of 10. The only incision that hurt was my belly button and it was totally tolerable. The first 3 or 4 days I took pain meds but stopped after that. The first few days I would get periodic gas pains but those stopped too. I can't believe how easy this has been so far.

Good point above - make sure you get a quote for the entire procedure at the bottom line. I was self pay and it cost $13,600 including hospital, etc.
-
FYI - there is no dumping syndrome with the sleeve.
-
If it fills you up fast isn't that a good thing? That suggests to me that you'd eat less.
-
I hate yogurt. Day 10 is coming up and it gets added to my menu. I'm dying for new foods. Any suggestions for a substitute?

Stupid Question .... Protein Shakes
Randgalt replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
WhoozisAnyway - you say "yummy". Which shakes are you using? The ones I've had are merely tolerable. -
Had A Hiatal And Umbilical Hernia Done At The Same Time
Randgalt posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe I'm crazy, but I had my doc fix both my Hiatal and Umbilical Hernia when getting sleeved. Anyone else have both these done? -
I just tried Better Than Bouillon and it's really good! Much better than a lot of the canned/packaged broths I've tried. FYI

Cheating On Liquid Diet
Randgalt replied to The New Tasha's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a pre op diet. I ate everything in sight until 8 hours before my surgery! -
Walk a lot and use Gas-x. That's helping me!

I'm down 15 lbs since my surgery last Monday (Aug 27th). That seems like too much weight to lose in a week. Is this normal?

What Did You Name Your Sleeve?
Randgalt replied to pretty-pink's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Someone in the August sleevers group named mine "Isaac" because my surgery was on Aug 27 in New Orleans during the hurricane. -
I got approved for a Lap Band years ago with a BMI of 35 because I had co-morbidities.

Had A Hiatal And Umbilical Hernia Done At The Same Time
Randgalt replied to Randgalt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't believe how easy this has all been. The hiatal hurts a bit throughout the day - pressure for a few secs. My belly button is very sore and it hurst when I cough. That's it. -
BTW - one of the reasons I chose Dr. Lavin is because he's so reasonable.
